I FREAKING LOVED DOLLHOUSE PILOT.

Love.

So good.

Mr. Mousie and I both liked it, actually.

Yay for next week. And now I have all sorts of questions: why the doctor is scarred, what drove Echo into joining, who is the creepy guy at the end, oh, and can Tahmoh Penickett be any cooler?

I'm about to watch it myself. An interesting thing I've been noticing while noting reactions is that modst people who like it or are less bothered by it are the anime and manga fans. Food for thought, maybe?

Interesting - I can actually see it as a premise for an anime or manga quite easily, which is not something I can say for most American shows (but all of Whedon's shows have that characteristic for me, actually).

Yeah, I'm just going by what people have been leaving outside of spoiler cuts, but I'm wondering if there's something specific about the plot or setup that that puts anime/manga fans in a "that's that unusual" place.

Right now, I'm waiting on the person I'm going to watch it with (hence my watching it now instead of waiting for DVD, like I normally do) to get computer problems sorted out.

I don't know if it's the story itself (a bit I think) but even more so of an anime/manga vibe, if it makes any sense...

I didn't mind it, but Tahmoh Penikett was definitely the major drawcard for me. I've only seen him in BSG so it was nice seeing him in a "real world" story and I do so like the way he drawls his words. *_*

The Echo backstory will be awesome when it comes, I think, but I need a bit more time to get used to the characters. Except for Olivia Williams, who I loved on sight - there's something about her crisp accents that I find amazing. ♥

It was interesting, but I'm not yet completely wowed. Some aspects of the pilot were a bit disturbing, but I guess that was intended...

Still, I'm willing to give a few more episodes to catch me. It's Joss Whedon after all :).
