I finally caved and got Seaside Love Story (Suna no ue no Koibitotachi) starring Nagase Tomoya and Honjou Manami. It had no subs but was dirt-cheap and how could I refuse a drama with the plot of Manami accidentally running over Nagase's gf via a dune buggy (!!!) but then falling in love with grieving, vengeful Nagase herself. And he falls back for her! And the dead gf's mother guilts Manami into sleeping with random men! And there is kissing and bed scenes. And did I mention death via dune buggy? Ahahahahaha!

You know, I know Nagase is in JE, but if I didn't know for sure, I would never guess as (1) he looks like a man and not a girl; (2) is in his 30s by now; (3) is actually in a band which plays their own instruments; and (4) makes all these dramas with sex in them. It's like a weird parallel world. How and why this occurred remains a mystery.

Nagase is an outlier, both in terms of JE, and the jdrama world.

He's as tall as I am! He's 8 years older than me! Apparently he plays his own instruments, but I'm still not really interested in his band!

Someday I'll finish Utahime, after which my crush cannot possibly get any bigger.

PS: You must watch My Boss, My Hero. Everyone in it is adorable, not least of all Nagase.

XDDD Nagase is indeed a special person. for more reasons than you may know XD
I'm so glad you're getting into him though :D I'm a big lover of Tokio and nagase <3. but i do feel the need to say that there is a whole world of JE outside of the cutesy/flashy kouhai groups like news or kattun or arashi or hsj. I dunno what to call k8...they are not really one way or the other XD *ignores takki&tsubasa* but like SMAP, V6, Tokio and..well ok maybe not kinki kids XD but at least those first 3 have their share of manly non girlish guys!
True smap crossdresses alot but really beneath the skirts they are manly. promise. lol though you know about kimutaku already though XD I just feel bad that the super cool older groups have to get lumped in with the frilly sparkly younger ones sometimes :( so i gotta like defend their awesomeness! XD but speaking of JE boys who can act and are sexy/manly, have you seen Okada Junichi in some dramas yet? He's really great, albeit not very tall but intense! and hot! and that body *____*
