Vid of the day
Jan. 31st, 2009 11:51 amis my favorite scene from Meteor Garden. I love everything about it, everything, from Shan Cai's complete fearlessness and disdain to DMS' utter willingness to be horribly hurt to protect her (which is even a bigger deal seeing his impulse control problems).
MMMMM.
I promise to reply to everyone asap :)

Date: 2009-02-02 06:17 am (UTC)I couldn't adore that bit more; she's sobbing her heart out but is still insulting him at the same time! Just gorgeous. And then the bit afterwards, when the F4 leave and it's the two of them alone, just makes me melt every time, really :-).
he is someone with such horrendously poor personal control and such an instinct to solve things with violence that he really has to negate some of his very basic make-up in order to just stand there
I love how you're summing up these characters so beautifully in one neat sentence! And you're right; I think we'd seen a few instances before (esp in the manga) where he showed some form of self-control, but this really is the most impressive example possible. And his blood spattered on the floor near him is such a nice touch ;-).
the way Shan Cai keeps mocking the goons (before he gets there) is priceless
She's so awesome; I think I have a massive girl-crush on her ;-). This is one of my very favourite scenes for her from the manga as well.
I just noticed something that made me giggle when I re-watched this scene the other day: everything's all tense and wrought; the F4 are wondering what's happened to Shan Cai and who's behind the red-tagging, and she's reeling from the shock of betrayal. And then Xiao Xuen pulls out this little girly pink phone to call DMS! Ah, tw-drama budgets...
