The Wrestler: The best American movie I have seen all year

We went to see The Wrestler yesterday, starring Mickey Rourke as the title character, a formerly famous wrestler who is decades past his prime and Marisa Tomei as a stripper friend of his.

It was FRELLING amazing. Unbelievable.

It's by far the best American movie of 2008, for my money.

I want to see that. I got teary eyes just watching the trailer. I have to wait for my husband though, he loves Mickey Rourke. I was so thrilled and surprised when he won his award. :)

I so want him to win the Oscar for this. I know it's between him and Sean Penn in Milk, and while I thought Penn was excellent, I think MR's performance in The Wrestler was on a whole another level.
