Bwahahahahaha!
Dec. 22nd, 2008 09:55 pmOK, I am a bad person. I accept it.
But it feels kinda, ashamingly delicious.
Rememeber East of Eden, the kdrama I really liked but then got bored with because it was 50 eps and I do not have the attention span?
Remember the whole crazy shipper war thing, where people shipped the male lead not with the girl he actually had romantic interactions with but with the one he barely met because she was a more famous actress (I had no objection to the latter ship per se, but to insist it was truest, most soulmatey, most canonical love ever drove me nuts. At least wait until they have a romantic interaction! Or any conversation longer than two words!)
Ahahahahahahahhaaaaa.
Lee Da Hae,* the famous actress in question, just suddenly quit EoE, who knows why (I don't know how familiar you are with kdramas, but unlike with US shows, where cast quits quite often, in kdramas, with their fixed runs, this is almost unheard of). Before they had time to develop an earthshaking romance, or any romance at all. Ahahahahahahaaaa!
(Btw, the other girl who the male lead had a romantic thing with until she got married off to protect him, just became a widow. Hmmmmm...)
I don't watch the show any more but I confess the crazed HR/DC shippers drove me so nuts, I am still pleased! I hope DC and Grace walk off into the sunset happily, just to annoy them :)
* I am not bashing Lee Da Hae. She is my favorite Korean actress and was uniformly excellent in everything I've seen her in, from My Girl to Green Rose to Hello Miss to Robber. But her fans in the EoE thread did everything possible to put me off her in EoE. It didn't help I found her character dull, for the first time.

Date: 2008-12-23 04:07 am (UTC)She posted on the show’s message board on the 22nd, “It was confusing to take on this character of Hye-rin, who even I can’t understand… As an actor in this drama, I feel a duty and responsibility to stay with it through the end. But I’m sorry to tell you I can no longer act in this situation, feeling this way.” She added, “I don’t want to act saying and doing such illogical, out-of-character things in this role that makes me look like an idiot.”
Hmm. I never watched it because I was waiting for it to finish before watching. But she is an actress I keep track of. Interesting.

Date: 2008-12-23 04:59 am (UTC)Apparently the drama's going to get an extension because 50 episodes aren't enough to wrap up the story O_o
