I am sure you've noticed, but I've been in a bit of drama slump lately.

I will try Byakuyakou but other than that, my slate is fairly empty. I don't know...I've started some I didn't hate but they didn't grab me (Spring Day, Romance etc). I did try Regatta with Hayami Mokomichi as a rower who is consumed by the guilt for a death of his best friend, especially since he is in love with that friend's girlfriend (Aibu Saki). It also has Matsuda Shota. But the same thing...it's not bad, but it didn't grab me.

So rec me! I don't care if it's Taiwanese, Korean, Mainland, Japanese. I want it a bit angsty and rather heavily into the romance. Please? Please?????

Thank you.

I tried it a year or so ago and it didn't click (same 'didn't hate/didn't love' thing). Jdramas don't often grab me, for some reason...

I might try it again though.

Did you finish Nine-Tailed Fox? I'm thinking of picking it back up, I want to get to that rainy makeout.

I second that! Or you could pick up Resurrection. ;P

I've tried several dramas myself recently and none really grabbed me. Hence my R-rewatch. So I'm basically watching just KotW and Resurrection now. Weeeellll, there's Ryuusei no Kizuna but that's just 'a light snack'. *g*

Soulmate! It's about six young people and their views on dating. I know that sounds boring but it actually isn't. It's pretty good. It's equal parts funny and angsty. Here's a really good mv of it.

Heeee. SL is only two eps per week so I'll have plenty of time to check out Robbers.

I really loved Summer Snow, which is an older jdrama with an adorable young Oguri Shun playing a deaf kid. There is a romance which is the focus of the thing, and im fairly certain I at least got sniffly once an episode.

it stars one of the KinKi Kids as the main guy.

that's really the only angsty one i can think of that ive seen..i tend towards the goofy stuff.

Wow... It was only through this post when I started realizing how much I don't watch dramas for the angst... I had the hardest time thinking of a drama that had a romance I liked and with angst scenes that didn't make me wanna ram my head against the wall. (Unless it's really insane and involves like, parricide and stuff like in Byakuyaou, lmao. Wuthering Heights got me good at a young age.....)

Hmm, Rolling Love? I love the cute scenes between Michelin and Xiao Shu and there's some ridiculous angst in the middle of it, a la twdramas, and despite the, ya know, complete lack of subtlety and over exaggeration of everything, I have a terrible fondness for it. Plus! Jiro Wang! With his manly cooking! It's awesome. =D

I just have gulped "Ice World" (http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Ice_World) in 2 days. IT'S AWESOME. LOVE. PASSION. MYSTERIOUS WOMAN. POSESSION. MUST SEE. I will make a post next week, it is just THAT GOOD. An "older" Japanese drama, with Matsushima Nanako ("Forbidden Love"), she scooped a lot of awards for this and with the good reason. And the main guy is GORGEOUS,Takenouchi Yutaka. I am watching "Rondo" next (he is in it too), he is just AWESOME.

Oh, and also "Ice World" is the first Jdrama I have seen that has wonderful non-closed-lip kissing scenes and people having sex. :D

I've already started IW before this (last week) but this is definitely going to give me a giant push to marathon it during the week!

I'm sure you've seen it since it has your fave (and mine) Kimura Takuya (hee) but what about Long Vacation? I found the chemistry between the leads, right on. It just kind of worked.

I want to recommend others but right now, I have 6 or 7 dramas on the go that I haven't finished yet, so I can't really recommend them.

I actually *gasp* don't like LV. I got bored when I tried it, and the heroine irritated the heck out of me. I know, I know, it makes me a mutant!

I can see why you don't. At first I didn't really care for it but it kind of grew on me. Kimura Takuya made me believe. ;) I just really enjoyed him and his character and that helped me ignore all the needless, dumb stuff.

And yeah, the heroine (can't remember the name of the character or the actress right now) was pretty irritating but, and I don't know why, after a while, I found her obnoxiousness kind of weirdly refreshing from the norm.

ETA. Oh and what happened to Golden Bride? I thought that was next on your list. Too long?

I liked what I saw of it but I kinda shudder about watching 50 eps of something on streaming.
