Top 10 American/British TV otps
Aug. 25th, 2007 12:45 amI talk so much about drama OTPs but here is a list of my Top 10 American/British tv OTPs. No order, except that John/Aeryn ARE my number 1.
1. John Crichton/Aeryn Sun, Farscape

2. The Doctor/Rose Tyler, Doctor Who

(OK, she is posessed by Cassandra here, but whatever)
3. Buffy/Angel, Buffy the Vampire Slayer

4. Mal Reynolds/Inara Serra, Firefly

5. Max Evans/Liz Parker, Roswell

6. Max Guevera/Logan Cale, Dark Angel

7. Athena/Helo, Battlestar Galactica

8. Robin/Marian, Robin of Sherwood

9. Veronica Mars/Logan Echolls, Veronica Mars

10. Kara Thrace/Samuel T. Anders, Battlestar Galactica.

Well, the women are strong, and the men idealistic, and there is angst, but that is about all they have in common :P

Date: 2007-08-25 10:45 am (UTC)You should, you really REALLY should. It is like a wuxia only in space :) Lots of eyecandy in form of Ben Browder, a strong female lead, fights, battles and an OTP to die for.
Besides, it has
MuppetsPuppets that become so real, it is amazing.no subject

Date: 2007-08-25 07:36 pm (UTC)I have to say, out of these I only love Mal/Inara myself.. Though I never watched Firefly fanatically but regardless, they were awesome. Firefly overall had very good ships.
I want to throw in a plug for Bones here but I've sort of given up hope of you ever watching that. Ah well. ;)

Date: 2007-08-25 08:43 pm (UTC)The short summary is that for the mini, first season, and most of second of BSG, I shipped Kara/Lee (the bloke in my icon). Kara and Lee are best friends, and have a complicated history (she was engaged to his younger brother and blames herself for his death, and is also the surrogate daughter to his Dad with whom he has a pretty messed up relationship). There was UST and a great deal of chemistry, and her calling out his name while having sex with someone else, and his going berserk when she was lost. And she is too messed up to allow herself to have him etc etc. And Lee is probably my favorite character on the show.
Sam didn't even appear until S2. He was in one episode as a resitance fighter she meets and has a brief, very intense fling with, and it was supposed to be a one off thing. I was actually annoyed with it (not the sex, but that it seemed she genuinely liked him) and so was most of the fandom. Kara/Lee was THE ship for BSG and actually is still by far the most popular ship.
But then Sam reappeared at the end of S2, and somehow between there and the beginning of S3 where they are married but she has been 'disappeared' for a year by the occupying force and then he finds her and he is freaking out whether she is dead and holding her, and then she is even more messed up after her captivity and breaks up with him because she just might kill him (or anyone who is close) otherwise, but they still care. Yeah, somehow with the functionality and the angst and the mess, I went into a Kara/Sam spin. Plus they also have awesome chemistry. They are together at the end of S3 so good for me :)
But whenever the writers veer into Lee/Kara stuff, I still squee like mad. So basically, whoever she ends up with, I win :) In BSG, I go with what writers sell me. Of course, it helps that they never sold L/K as the otp to end everything, soulmates. That's what's so handicapped me on switching ships on Buffy. I like my stories to be consistent.

Date: 2007-08-25 09:13 pm (UTC)Man, Buffy. When I was 10-11 yrs old, I used to love staying up late to watch S1 & S2 of Buffy. That period I really liked but honestly, I don't remember shipping B/A as Angel was dull to me (travesty! maybe I just didn't 'get him' being so young) so when S/B came along, I was like "Huh? Hokay!" and by then, I wasn't really active in my Buffy watching anyway. Firefly was always 'the' Joss Whedon show for me. :)
