Hello character assassination!

Yeah, right.

When Veronica thought (rightly) Troy was a drug dealer out to use her? She confronted him, in his face, no trust.

When Veronica thought Duncan raped her, she turned on him, went and had that confrontation in the driveway. You know, Duncan. Her first love.

When she thought Logan was the one that could have caused her to be raped (or raped her), she slammed the door in his face and confronted.

She didn't trust, she was demanding answers, she was bitter and in the face.

When presented with a lot more solid ground that her very new fling Piz has videotaped them making out and posted it on line?

Oh hell yeah. Of course she'd trust him and be tenderly solicitous and never even suspect him. How dare big meanie Logan rough Piz up? She suspected, accused, was prickly with Duncan and Logan, people who meant a hell of a lot more to her than Piz should.

But with Piz? No way, she would never suspect. Not even when someone who isn't Veronica (who is by her nature judgemental and picky and suspicious) would throw down. I would and I am not a judge-everyone-all-the-time type like she is.

ARGH.

Don't you love it when TPTB think the heroine, franchise and most importantly, poor misguided female viewers need to be "saved" from the bad boy/antihero and the Gary Stu only the creator likes comes in to save the day, shoo off the cool...excuse me, "wrong" character and teacher her all about twue wuv?

Wait, projecting Witchblade ire here. But it sounds like the same thing.

Now, I love good boy heroes. Love them (do they get any more good boy than Hwangbo Yoon?)

But it has to make sense. It has to fit the stories and characters. I can buy a heroine with a good boy. But Veronica with Piz?

It should be whichever suits things best...like PotC...it doesn't work there.

Witchblade...sigh...it really is the same thing...years of an obsessive OTP who's a cop and an assassin stuck together, then suddenly she's all about Gary Stu cop and both parts of the OTP-who kick series mystic and mortal butt-are being sacrificed by the perfect cop meant to "save" us from Ian...

The part that makes Witchblade so frustrating is that until Marz(current writer) started messing with the OTP, it was actually the best the book had ever been. But...seriously...when your OTP for almost 10 years is a tough as nails lady cop with a mystic weapon that lets her battle demons and whose personal issues make Veronica's look like she's having trouble getting a date for the prom, and a hot british samurai assassin(yes, you heard that right) mystically altered to be able to use said weapon(that, except for him, only likes women) and they like to do things like stalk each other, become mortal enemies with romantic rivals and have shared dreams that involve bedsheets...well...suddenly switching to a clean cut cop who's essentially a "perfect" version of her(much more interesting and woobie) partner(who, btw, was killed off to make room for the guy) who she can suddenly spill everything to when she couldn't spill it to her sister, her best friend and partner, or her father figure for YEARS...and....ugh...yeah, starting down the path that has resulted in a stack of rants at my LJ...moving on...

*points to icon* Now take out the long haired hottie, insert Piz and have her clinging to his arm...sigh...

Farscape: LOL. *figured mousie forgot and just didn't mention it* Actually, it's now VERY good timing, because the other times you were gonna send it, my backlog was huge...it's still huge, but aside from a few US movies(a whole 4, I think) it's all anime, doramas and asian movies(and one french...Horseman on the Roof, ever seen it?) which means I'm more likely to get to it quickly.

BTW, my The Little Fairy/Fairy From Wonderland DVDs came today, but I haven't had a chance to check them out yet.
