Jodha Akbar daze...
Nov. 27th, 2006 04:25 pmStill in my post-Dhoom 2 Hrithik haze, I went looking for info on Jodha-Akbar, Hrithik's next movie. It is a period epic dealing with the Mughal Emperor Akbar and his relationship with his wife Jodha played by Aishwarya Rai. It's directed by one of my favorite directors, Ashutosh Gowariker (who did Swades and Lagaan and mmm...he gets good performances out of his actors) and will have music by A.R. Rahman who is amazing. It's supposed to be a an out-and-out romance.
But I knew all that.
But...
Eeeee!
Now I am even more excited, as there are going to be sword-fighting combat scenes in the movie. With Hrithik.

Hello.
Hrithik Roshan.
In a period epic.
Directed by Ashutosh Gowariker.
Romancing Aishwarya.
Horse-riding.
And now sword-fighting?
Somebody must REALLY love me.

Date: 2006-11-27 08:44 pm (UTC)After their chemistry in D2, I am really psyched for this. Plus, I am a complete sucker for Mughal films.

The only Bolly movies I've seen with elephants were Asoka and Taj Mahal (I think that one had elephants but I saw it so long ago, I don't remember). And I don't remember about MeA either...

I know! I remember watching D2 and thinking, eeeee! They will be awesome in J-A.
I love Mughal films too (or any period ones) and actually wish they made more.

Date: 2006-11-27 09:14 pm (UTC)I remember elephants in MeA... when Salim returns to court and possibly at the big battle. But anyways, yes, elephants rock.. if they're treated right.
I hope the Diwali release date brings in the audiences for this... period films never do well. :(
And if any of it involves Hrithik getting wounded in battle and being tended to by Aish I will be a puddle of goo on the floor. ;)

I see no moustache being grown... so we might be lucky, for at least part of the film.
Unless it's a fake mustache pasted-on type thing. Eeeek. Please no :(

Now I got to start crossing my fingers and toes. Oh please...
