Hanadan rocks again!

I have finally started watching the subbed version of the Hana Yori Dango movie and eeee! Barely 15 minutes in, I remembered all over again why I adore Hanadan so. Awww, the bickering, thick-as-two-planks, adorable darlings are back!

This is such a fanservice movie. I mean, they spend 10 minutes on the wedding! (Yes, I cheated and watched the end first). I can't imagine anyone not into Hanadan liking it but I am a Hanadan junkie so yay!

So goooood!

Who would have thought the story of two oddballs: the barely-functional before meeting her, snobby, violent, yet a bit dim and very dorky rich boy and a plucky resilient thick-headed darling of a heroine would get me so much! But how could I not love it when they meet when he tries to haze her and she punches him in the face knocking him down! It was love at first sight both for Mr. Dysfunction and myself.

One of the most fun things about the Hanadan movie is to see how functional they are together. If Mommy Kaede wasn't so fixated on prestige and control in Hanadan series, she so would have let them get together much sooner. Heck, she should have given Makino a thank-you letter and invited her over for tea and pushed her to date her son in hopes they would hook up sooner, because let's face it, Domyouji was heading for jail or a loony bin or somewhere else unpleasant before he had someone to fixate on in a healthy manner as an emotional outlet. The only reason he ultimately emotionally grew up, and grew up fairly OK was because of Makino and his feelings for her.

I need to watch the movie, but I don't want the Hanadan experience to end. ): Maybe when the Korean version finally gets here. Do you know the expected air date?

I think December 2008 was original airing date. Not sure if it got pushed back but I presume if it's still December, then it's the end of December.

God, please let it start in December, before I am all baby-enabled and with no time!

What is Hanadan, if I may ask?

Hanadan= hana yori dango, a very popular manga turned into anime, Taiwanese, Japanese, and now Korean drama. Take one spunky, outspoken poor girl in a snooty rich school ruled by the F4, the sons of four richest families. Put her on a collision course with Domyouji Tsukasa, the F4 leader, and the most arrogant, pig-headed one of the bunch. Have her declare war back on him and result in him falling for her, except she wants nothing to do with him, obviously. Add in some hilariousness, heart-break and crazy fashion. Stir. What do you get? An adaptation of a very famous manga and one of the most popular dramas of recent years.

It's awesome.
