If Matsumoto Jun is straight, I will probably expire from shock.

Kim Jae Wook (Coffee Prince etc) does not convince me either...

And neither does Joe Cheng.

With Jo In Sung, if he turned out to be gay, I would not be shocked in the least.

Note: this is not intended to be and is not derogatory. JC, JIS and Matsujun are huge favorites of mine. I think I'll watch anything with them, on principle. KJW I am more meh on, but he certainly is pretty!

Also, it's not a feminine appearance type thing. Lee Jun Ki might pass for a girl but he comes across all boy in action and gives off (at least to me) a straight vibe.

It's weird, I kind of want to problematize this to the core (in Asian culture some of the "gay" signs for us might not be so to them at all). But at the same time, I do think there's probably on average at least one in every boyband even in conservative cultures (though maybe Korea is becoming more liberal on this issue).

I remember on Bwhat there was a discussion on whether audiences would buy an openly gay guy as a romantic lead. I'd be willing to argue yes because hey, it's called acting.

You might buy an openly gay man as a hetero romantic lead, and so may I, but a lot of people won't be able to (I am leaving out religious and social backlash). For a lot of person, they like to watch things and sort of put themselves in place of heroine or even if not, their knowledge would seep in.

Even though I agree with you on all those you mentioned, I have to say that based on the Asian culture, esp. Korean and Japanese while being gay is still not widely accepted, a lot of signs and images we are so used to with Western gays cannot be applied to Asian cultures.
Using make-up and going all out on fashion etc. is a very male thing to do in Asian societies. Samurais were not only famous for their sword skill but also for them being pretty, all perfumed and clothed in the finest silks and using make-up. The more pretty and elegant they were the better and still deadly with a sword.

I have to admit when I first saw Kimura Takuya all dolled up and dancing in a SMAP concert (that was after I had seen him in Pride) I was gawking. I definitely thought he was gay, because he dances like a gay, all girly and fluid motions. Consider my surprise when I found out he was not only married, having two kids and being considered the sexiest man alive in Japan.

I've read several times that he is MatsuJun's ultimate role model and while I haven't seen full concerts with SMAP I've seen pics of Kimura with the (what I used to believe was) 'trademarked MatsuJun' poses so I guess there's truth in that. So as much as I'd like to believe MatsuJun is gay he doesn't really need to be based on his appearence.

And.. I know a huge lightning will come out of the sky and kill me as soon as I say this, but.. Rain does not convince me either.
And seriously, if you look at his performances/drama characters there's a totally straight vibe but well, I watched some interviews/random videos.. and often sometimes he gives me that feeling lol.
Plus, never had/seen with a girfriend. And he's 26. (well there was that famous chick he supposedly had a one night stand with, but it was all for publicity sakes, I guess)

Lee Jun ki has to be gay, and Jo Ji Hoon too. Every single Johnny Entertainment boy looks gay to my eyes (Yamapi, Kame, etc. etc.), but again - by pure power of probabilities they can't all be gay. ;D I guess there must be something about the clothes. The only two gay guys I know (our friends) dress very similar to Asian fashions, especially Japanese fashions. I think this is a pure power of assiocation (and associations like this are always incorrect, I know! :D). ;D

I'm sorry to say that I am behind you with Kim Jae Wook. And I am so sad to say that. But I think all the attraction I have for him is because he wears a Vivienne Westwood ring in Coffee Prince.
I actually lived in Korea for a year and I saw alot of stuff that I would think qualify people as gay but apparently isn't (businessmen spooning in the park to start). It would be a big deal if a Korean entertainer said they were gay. They are super sensitive about that there.
