You know, Yeon and Muhyul from The Kingdom of the Winds is basically a walking illustration of the principle that Good Girls fall for Bad Boys.*

Think about it. Leaving aside the issue of status (he is a slave), power and money (he has none), most of the times Yeon sees Muhyul he is either:

* running away from the law
* being tortured/injured/wounded
* embarking on ninja assiassination/infiltration missions or training for the same

Any sane woman would be given pause by the fact that, good looks, mad adoration of herself and fighting skills notwithstanding, Muhyul does not make a great prospect as the above would indicate a great likelyhood of early widowhood for any woman Muhyul hooks up with :P

OTOH, unlike a lot of drama couples who would die without each other because they would get hit by a truck in their emo, for Yeon and Muhyul it's literally true because he needs her medical skills and she needs his fighting skills in their scary scary world. So far, she's saved his life 3 times (on the border, she fixed him up after torture. He wouldn't have been able to fight off execution with it it. When she saw him OD on poison in ninja center she sucked it out and saved his life. And when he was shot in the back and ran away from palace and treatment (Muhyul's issues have issues) ending up in a cave with high fever and emo, she healed him up). And Muhyul saved her life twice: once when their ninja mission was exposed and she was about to be killed by the palace guards, and when Daeso ordered Yeon's family (and her) killed,* he killed her attackers and got her away. And we are only a third through the drama!

*Well, if you squint a LOT. Seeing that Yeon goes on ninja assassination missions, she is hardly a traditional good girl, and Muhyul is a messed-up guy and not a bad boy :P But I wanted to make this post.

** You know, other than the fact that he hates to see Yeon unhappy, I don't think Muhyul is sad about the fate of Yeon's family. For Dojin, Yeon's Dad was like his own, supporting him when everyone turned away. For Muhyul, Yeon's Dad ran the ninja center which captured him, experimented on him for a year, and then Yeon's Dad was all 'you didn't die this time? Will kill you next time. Wait...you have a grudge we can use? Have some brutal training and morally wrong missions on me. Otherwise you die.' I doubt he has warm fuzzies. Plus, Maro kept telling him he and Yeon can't be because he's a slave and she is a Princess but now she isn't Princess any more but a slave also...

I have watched 10 episodes so far. It goes slowly sometimes so I ff a bit, but the story is solid. I particular like multi-shippiness, just my kind of thing.

Absolutely. These bits I tend to watch few times. :D I liked the tragic story of the BIG BROTHER and his lady too. Very romantic.

I kinda like the "thrid wheel" gy so far too.

I like the 'other guy' a lot, too. I hope he gets to be King of Puyo or similar. Or at least avenge his family.

The Older Brother/Cave Painter story would have made a good drama in and of itself...

YAY! Love the cap! I like this ship too. Yeon is quite unusual for a Korean herouine - nothing like the usual silly-with-the-heart-of-gold or bitchy-with-the-heart-of-gold. She isn't even the other type (though I like this one more), gentle-and-ladylike. She is ladylike plenty but I like that the has a strong backbone (without bitchiness).

Yeah, she is ladylike but I won't say she is gentle: she has a backbone of steel, I agree, and any girl that volunteers to go on ninja missions and is helpful is not someone I want to cross :)

I'm not sure if you have heard of it before, but there is this thing called Yuletide which is basically a fanfic exchange for super-rare fandoms (particularly books or less well known movies). I know Bollywood fic has been written for it before and I have heard great things about the quality of the stories that end up being written.

I wondered if I could interest you in suggesting some fandoms. Basically, all kinds of fandom where you ever went "Damn, I wish fic for this existed!". I would be very interested in seeing/reading some dorama fic for example. From the way I understand it this is just for suggesting fandoms, it doesn't mean that you sign up to write anything. Just a suggestion for which fandoms you would like to see.

Or maybe you know any interesting places of those rare fandoms where you could crosspost these and maybe they can think of a fandom or want to sign up.
