The three main characters are so awesome and angstily intense. OMG. And between the three of them, need about 5 decades of therapy each.

I watched half of ep 12 of Kingdom of the Winds, i.e. what was subbed so far.
This so is my favorite drama of the season. Even if it does get darker and darker. Maybe especially because of it.
The scene with Yeojin and Muhyul was just amazing. You know, Yeojin really grew on me. Unlike his older two brothers, Haemyeong and Muhyul, he is neither good at (or interested in) martial arts and he has neither Haemyeong's overwhelming idealism or Muhyul's inhuman drive. In some ways, he is a less 'passionate' person that either the dead Crown Prince or the gorgeous mess than Muhyul. But he is perceptive and no coward. And the fact that he can see the humanity in Muhyul, and Muhyul's deep damaged hurt, even if Muhyul is the man who kidnapped him speaks volumes for him, especially since Yeojin is still a kid. And I love how crazy this situation is, when Muhyul reassures Yeojin (who says he is envious of Haemyeong because he has followers even if he is dead, and he, Yeojin, never met anyone who'd follow him) that it's not that the followers don't exist, but he hasn't met them yet. Oddly, there is bonding going on there. Awww.
And when Yeojin tells Muhyul that if the deep anger he feels ever left, his eyes would be very warm. OMG. (I have to say, at this point Muhyul is kind of like an abused stray animal: he might be desperate for kindness but he won't open up about it and might just lash out).

Muhyul is carving a figure of Yeon. This is here because I have a hands fixation:

Dojin! Again! ILY! And looking even more gorgeous with short hair.

The confrontation between Yuri and Muhyul almost made me cry. Also, I am totally dense, but I never before realized that part of the reason Muhyul hates Yuri so much is not just the death of Haemyeong and his followers, but he also blames him for his awful time with the Black Shadows. And of course, also, his desire for revenge grew because this was the only thing he could use to stay alive during the year as a slave in the camp or when he was trained as a Shadow himself. That is why this is one of the things he throws into Yuri's face: his capture and retention by the Black Shadows.

I think I nearly screamed when Hae Ap (who just shot Muhyul) recognizes him and screams his name and Yuri realizes this is his long-given-up son. This said, while I understand Yuri's reluctance to openly acknowledge Muhyul as his son (his rule would topple) he owes him at least a good life. And, of course, there is a catch: I think Muhyul might understand (however he might resent) his father giving him away as a baby to save the Kingdom and his (Muhyul's) life. And it's not as if Yuri knew what happened to Muhyul since then. But what Yuri is doing here by refusing to admit to anyone this is his son, is abandoning him again, without telling Muhyul any shred of the truth. And I don't think that is something that Muhyul could ever forgive, especially seeing his trust issues are a mile wide.

This is here because Yeojin is awesome:

I cannot imagine how devastating it is for Muhyul to find out that the one thing he was living for, revenge on Yuri, was not only meaningless but also wrong. He has done so many wrong things in pursuit of it. Plus, now he has no goal in life. Killing Yuri was a goal that held him together. It's not a healthy or a good goal, but it is one. I wonder what he will do now. It's not as if he has rooted family structure and seeing the world as a goal is no longer enough for him, not after all that happened to him. In a way, he must feel as if he sold his soul (even if he didn't have a choice) for nothing.

Yeon is just as moved by wounded, destroyed Muhyul as I am :)

You have no idea how much I love that he turns 12 whenever she is around. And not just because normally he lost too much of that youthful wonder and impetuousness.

I just changed the 'v' to 'b' to reference the Japanese word 'baka' (so beloved by Makino and Domyouji :P). Told you, random :)
