I repeat.

Oh. MY. GOD.

I literally let out a (quickly stifled) noise when I read this.

Some of you might remember talks, some months ago, about an upcoming Korean drama, Triple, set in the world of figure-skating and starring nobody I ever heard of before or was interested in, but which I was going to watch because...I love figure-skating.

Well, some time ago the male lead (whose name escapes me, I think he was a newbie) left, for whatever reason.

Then.

I knew some time after that they got Lee Seon-Kyun (the guy with the sexiest voice ever, the Other Guy in Coffee Prince) in that drama and I got a bit excited. I like him a lot. If I ever watch Sweet Seoul, it will basically be because of him.

So the fact that he was cast got me a bit excited. I won't automatically watch a drama because he is in it, but it is definitely a plus.

Then.

A few weeks ago, I read they got Yoon Kye-Sang (male lead of Crazy for You, Who are You, Sister-in-Law is 19) to also be in that drama.

Now, I got even more excited. I really really like YKS. He is sexy, masculine, and a pretty damn good actor to boot.

So I was already predisposed to be quite enthusiastic about Triple. One actor I like, one actor I like A LOT, and figure-skating.

THEN.

I randomly opened my browser to dramabeans' blog as I do fairly regularly, and what I saw made me seriously hyperventilate.

In addition to the two above (both playing ad execs) NOW THEY HAVE KANG JI HWAN AS THE LEAD.

I repeat. Kang Ji Hwan. Who happens to be the male lead of two of my all-time favorite kdramas, Capital Scandal and Hong Gil Dong, and who is, bar none, my favorite kdrama actor ever.

Oh. My. GOD.

All this and figure-skating.

At this point, I don't even care if this thing has a plot or who the female lead is (she is an actress I am not familiar with at all, Min Hyo-Rin).

Because...

GUUUUUUUUUUUUUUH.

I just might die.

(It is totally awesome that the gals at dramabeans are as ecstatic over this as I am!)

Also, this is by the PD of Coffee Prince. Whoa.

If this goes the way of Daemul (i.e. scrapped because of production issues) I just might kill something.

Female lead looks like a cutie. I can't imagine Kang Ji-hwan figure skating but omg the drama sounds awesome. I feel like rewatching CS now. :DD

I just hope to God he doesn't wear those horrible skater outfits but seeing this is a kdrama, that is probably an unrealized hope.

Kdrama fashion, baby!

I remember seeing this movie as a youngin', about a hockey player who becomes a figure skater who of course falls in love with his figure skating partner. Was quite a sweet movie from what I recall, wouldn't mind seeing something close to that in a drama sometime.

PS. I finished 9 End 2 Outs today, you have to see it!! You blogged about it a while ago, if I'm not mistaken. It's soooo awesome, I don't even have words to say how awesome it is. Totally realistic, great characterization and it's the first drama that doesn't have all the terrible cliches of k-dramas (which always irritate me to no end).

I'd heard about this a while ago (well only that it's by the same director as CP) but now Kang Ji Hwan (who is also totally my favourite Korean actor) and the Other Guy from CP is in it! Oh god thank you for sharing! *busy flailing*

Now, if only they'd replace the girl with someone I really love, like Yoon Eun Hye (or Sung Yuri, but she and KJH just did Hong Gil Dong and might not want to do two in a row).

The girl seems to be a model turned singer and according to Wikipedia she's known as the "Luxury Nose Girl" o_O
This also seems to be her first acting gig...
I'm still going to be happy and excited and optimistic cos there's just too many awesome people involved!
