So...who's the worst "Other Girl" (or Guy) in a drama you've ever seen

We all know the type.

Hero and Heroine in a drama might love each other dearly but...watch out. Something more dread than the drama disease will intervene: the dreaded Other Girl or Other Guy (and sometimes both).

Said Other will lie, cheat, steal, kill, frame etc to get the object of affection away from the OTP and into their slimy arms. Framing the woman's husband for rape? No big deal. Running over your female rival with a car? Why not? Coming back years later after no word whatsoever and hitting your now ex-girlfriend for daring to like someone else? Perfectly reasonable. Getting the Government to hunt down the man who refused your advances because he loves another and has never expressed any interest in you? All in a day's work. How about ending the world? OK.

Asia seems scarily overrun with sociopaths.

So, who's the worst Other you've come across in your drama time?

Eeeh...I suck at remembering the ones I hate, just the one I genuinely like(Lovers, Goong) or the ones whose evilness is a pure joy, if sometimes in a pure "WTF?" way. Like how the one in Spring Waltz is so psychotic and clearly not from this planet, or in Fantasy Couple, where's she's so amazingly good at being evil an manipulative (though she probably would have been "Annoying. Forget." if the heroine didn't always call her on it while everyone else was falling for her act.)

Didn't the one in SW glom onto the hero even after finding out he wasn't the kid who pledged marriage at 8 yrs old or whatever (even if he was, that would be psychotic, but with the added twist...)

I can't wait to watch FC!

I sometimes wonder how you can get so scarily unreasonable as to be divorced from any common sense or earth logic as some of these characters seem to be.

I mean, I don't particularly like Hyo-Rin in Goong the way you do, but she is not unbelievable, behavior-wise and when it finally sinks in it's a lost cause she gives up (and hopefully hooks up with her cute male best friend. Though I think in the manhwa it's CG's brother (!!!!)). Plus, she is a teenager.

What some of these other characters think I will never be able to figure out.

I send "Lovers" and "Goong" on the dramas that had "good" Others.

My worst Other is from "Winter Sonata". He made me literally sick.

1. Crazy eyes, the other girl in Stairway to Heaven. She RUNS OVER HER STEPSISTER AND THEN PALMS HER OFF ON THE STEPBROTHER AS SHE HAS AMNESIA.

2. The other guy in Stained Glass is pretty pyschotic at the end

3. Other guy in Winter Sonata. The attempted rape! The hunger strike or whatever it was that gets him stuck in hospital!

4. Tennis Girl of Lip Gloss Excess in My Girl.

5. Other guy in My Delightful Girl. Crazy as a loon and devious to boot.

Um, I know I have others, but these are my gold standard.

What really makes me worried is that (except for 1-2 which I haven't seen), people in 3-5 that are the unfortunate objects of their affection seem to be fairly reasonable sane people. It's encouraging this phobia that one day for no reason you will be stalked by a crazy person and there is nothing you can do.

I think N.5 guy is the most bizarre of the three though because at least 3-4 used to date the person in question and just don't seem to realize that selfishness and evilness will make you lose the significant other's attention but the guy in 5 should have never even been deluded enough to think heroine liked him.

There must be a great demand for therapy in Korea.

Also, when the Other Girl/Guy are in a period drama, have you notice they become more evil because they don't have to worry about cops, media or restraining orders? Like the Other Girl in Hong Gil Dong (have you finished that one btw?)

For girls, it would be the evil tennis chick from My Girl! Ugh, I hated her so badly. Also, the ex from Koizora.. she pays these guys to gang rape her ex's gf? WTF.

and the bitch Secondary Girl in Full House. Who didn't love the hero at all, but kept using him and making sure he was always by her side when she needed some comfort.

Oh, and the girl in My Girl.

What killed me is she specifically set out to ruin his happiness when she realized he wasn't going to come back to her (Gee, you ditched him at the worst time of his life without even a good-bye call and you are wondering why he doesn't love you any more). The whole hiding his cousin is alive, tattling to grandpa etc. She stole 2 years of life from Gong Chan and Yu Rin. Ugh.

The only Other Girl I could think that is along the same lines as in Full House and Delightful Girl Choon Huyng is that girl in Why Why Love with a mop on her head.

She also wanted attention from the hero and kept wanting him to be near her. She wasn't that evil I guess but she was extremely annoying. I would rather have the Other Girl like in Hong Gil Dong because her character was interesting and I liked seeing her on the screen.

Hmmm... I think most of the secondary loonies I've seen have already been mentioned here.

But I may add the Other Guy from Daemang; a sociopath who likes to slice up people because he needs to 'feel something'. His idea of getting the girl is telling her that if she does not forget about the hero he'll kill him. With some threats about her parents thrown in for good measure. Subtle. That's just one of his ways of showing how much he loves her. XD And he fully expects her to fall for him after that. Ah, why are these guys always so delusional? I still think he's rather awesome though, as a charcter. :)

I agree with tennis girl from My Girl, evil girl in Full House. The secondary guy (& girl) in Crazy For You annoyed me to no end - I didn't hate them but I did despise them. Talk about not knowing when to give up! Pathetic! Hyo-Rin from Goong was pretty much the same way.
