Since I am still on a Nagase kick (whatever, leave me alone), I wanted to watch another Nagase drama (I cannot, in good conscience, claim that what I am doing with Love & Eros is drama-watching :P)

My choice? Ikebukuro West Gate Park. It promises me juvenile delinquents, gangs, beat-downs, serial killer rapists, and a cast that in addition to Nagase as the protagonist includes young Yamapi (alas, too young for me to drool over), Ken Watanabe (yes, indeed), Koyuki (heroine of Kimi Wa Petto), Sakaguchi Kenji (the hot goalie from Pride), and Tsumabuki Satoshi (Dororo!!!), among others. Mmm. Yes. Leave some hot people for the rest of Japan, IWGP!

The plot, apparently, revolves around Makoto (Nagase), whose gf gets murdered by a serial killer rapist and he is accused of the murder. The story starts out with him trying to figure out who killed her and apparently goes weirder and cooler from there.

I am hijacking this thread to express my unadulterated adoration for Kubozuka Yosuke, especially in this drama. The fight in the last episode?? YES PLEASE. I really hope he does another drama sometime soon.

She dies and he's trapped in the future, but the homemade time machine manages to inadvertently change their past (their first meeting) so there's hope, in some reality, that they get their happy ending. Plus he gets a really sweet scene of closure through this dream/fantasy sequence.

Sakaguchi Kenji is IWGP? I don't remember that at all. But I watched IWGP before I knew many jdrama actors, so that's not surprising. Anyway, it's a good drama, if rather upsetting in parts and just plain weird in others.

OMG! I am DESPERATE to watch IWGP but I can't find DVDs :( I heard a lot of good reviews about it. But I am watching it for Kubozuke Yosuke. That guy is just, wow. :D

OK so first there is the amazing MV which just had me dying to see this drama and then I re-read your description and got as far asn "the hot goalie from Pride". I want to see more of him! And the others - fantastic. Dammit I think I need to take the next month off work to catch up on dramas :) At least I've discovered I can make icons while I watch them :)

Ha I just found it on eBay, which means I can just buy it instead of downloading it slowly, 1 episode a night, or waiting until my friends boyfriend gets around to giving me the stuff he's downloaded :)
