I am almost done with Utahime (only 2 eps left) but am still in the grip of Nagase fever so I decided to check out, as recommended by darkeyedwolf, Love & Eros.

What Mr. Mousie would make of a folder with such a name on the external hard-drive, I have no idea :)

The video quality is not great (it's an old drama) but I am finding the drama most enjoyable, because of...the plot. Yeah. The plot. Plot=Nagase having sex on kitchen tables.

Anyway, the story of L&E is: When Kasumi's husband dies in a car wreck, Ryuichi vows to watch over her and her unborn son. Over the next ten years, he gradually falls in love with Kasumi. Now 35-year-old, Kasumi has resisted loving another man for fear of reliving the pain of losing a loved one. She happens to meet Ryuichi's bad boy younger brother and finds herself physically attracted to him; but Ryuichi finally acts on his bottled-up feelings for Kasumi and asks her to marry him. Kasumi must decide if she can bring herself to fall in love with a responsible man like Ryuichi, or if she can be content with the purely physical relationship that his brother can provide.

With Nagase, of course, playing the bad-boy brother, I assume the question in the summary is rhetorical. Pick a man who might be stable but looks like a dyspeptic actuary and has the good taste to pop the question at his father's funeral, or hot (if meaningless) sex with a guy who looks like Nagase, has mother-trauma (I think she tried to burn him alive), and enjoys boinking floozies on kitchen tables and taking off his shirt?

Gee: you can always marry Mr. Responsible later. He'll wait a few more years, I am sure.

I am also incredibly amused because have spoiled myself for the ending, and LOL. Isn't the usual scenario women are supposed to want is to get knocked up by the badboy and have a responsible man raising the kid, not the other way around?

So far only Inagaki Goro and Nagase had some pretty steamy sex scenes at odd places (and at a young age at that). Other JE Boys almost always shy away from these ... having seen the first part of a blind dte with Tsubasa from T&T and Tsuyoshi from Kinki Kids I sure know why. They are totally inept at talking to girls (and Tsuyoshi and Tsubasa are in their late 20s).

Oh I think they do have sex with the opposite sex ... they just get totally drunk before doing it though.
It is just that on a daily, normal basis, even romantically, they are total dweebs when it comes to women. At this blind date it was like .. WOAH, GIRLS! WOAH, Boobies! WOAH, she talks? ... Tsuyoshi, who turns 30 this or next year, blushed and was totally off his usual cool. Given the fact of how awkward some onscreen kisses are (e.g. Sapuri) of a couple of JE Boys, I think most of them get their first kisses on set rather than in their private lives.

True, but it was kind of a normal situation ... not a kitchen counter or a jacusi at a young age like Nagase (he was in his early 20s IIRC).
Ever since he married he did have some really nice, steamy sex scenes.

I kept thinking of a kitchen in 1Million but I could be mistaken. Hmmm, excuse to rewatch? :)

Considering Nagase had a long-term gf, I'd imagine he is capable of at least rudimentary conversation with a female, which probably helps :)

The plot is excellent. Highly excellent. I only wish the video quality was better so I could appreciate the plot in the detail it deserves.
