I have just spoiled myself for the end of Utahime.

Why? Why? Why? Why????????

WHY???????

(Not why I spoiled myself. The answer is obvious: I am a spoiler nut. But why the ending...whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy? I was expecting something like that though. They established it well enough. ARGH NO WHY).

How does it end? Because I have actually been thinking about checking this one out, because based on the pics the guy looks awesome. Rrrrraw.

He is pretty awesome.

Basically, he regains his memory and remembers he is married and has a child. So even though he loves Suzu, he can't leave his daughter, so he goes off to be with his wife, and he pretends he forgot their time together but he hadn't...

*woe*

(But I think his grandson and her granddaughter hook up, and they are also played by Nagase and Aibu Saku, so this makes me feel better).

Ah. I kinda like heartbreak so I might still like it. (you so have to more of your Top 10 lists again. I forgetting the names of the shows I thought looked interesting)

Most of the dorama guys you post I find cute and pretty to look at but he has a certain something something (yes, other than just facial hair) that makes me want to see him in action.

Though my Asian tv shows count is still pathetic with exactly 6 out of 8 episodes of Remote (which I actually quite a bit; but for some reason I find it more straining to watch than Bollywood;) and some episodes of Goong (pretty, but too slow paced for my taste).

BTW, you were the one who recced Mongol right? I didn't really remember anything you said about it except pretty pictures and that the woman is strong and messed up but still within historical realism. So I watched it with a friend. Many thanks for the rec.

Speaking of Asian stuff, got any good tear jerkers? Bollywood kinda hasn't been delivering on that front for me lately, so I'm looking for something that will give me a good cry.

yeah, I don't find the ending of utahime pointless angst (at the last minute cute high school girl gets cancer woe! Ugh type stuff).

I like Nagase Tomoya (Utahime guy) a lot more than a lot of Asian actors because he looks a lot more 'manly' and that's the type I like in RL and most Asian actors are not that manly-looking, heh.

If you want some fast-paced dramas, I can totally recommend.

Here are my top 10 Japanese and Korean drama lists (only a thriller-mystery "The Devil" is now in nunber 2 in kdramas. I need to update).

Asian movies are HUGE tearjerkers. HUGE. I tend to stay away though because of it so don't know too many. One that's very very emo is Millionaire's First Love with is so ott with angst I loled. Let me think though...

Fast paced would be great. Goong was very lovely but it felt too slow to me.

I was actually thinking about tearjerker dramas rather than movies. Just something that is real soapy goodness.

Though Thriller Mystery? I'm intrigued.

Word.

Are there any dramas who are more along the lines of crazy hot passion rather than staying away from each other for a long time or awkward slow getting to know each other? How about anything where they get together as a couple rather quickly and face obstacles together? (for some reason I'm picturing something more along the lines of "Rebecca". Though maybe some of those fantasy warrior movies sound good for that; where they sort of fight side by side)

Gonna check the list again :)

BTW, where would one get Utahime? It's not on crunchyroll by any chance? It's just so much faster if you just want to see whether you like something rather than having to join a community and trying to find valid download links.

Utahime is on crunchyroll, indeed.

Yup.

Tree of Heaven (they are stepsiblings in forbidden lurve)

Japanese

Forbidden Love (Majo No Jouken): he is a student she is a teacher...oooooh!
Kamisama Mou Sukoshi Dake (she has aidsssssss!)

Taiwanese

Mars: he is a troubled bad boy, she is an abused artist
The Outsiders: she is a sheltered pianist rich girl and he is a rising young mobster...

In addition to Snow Queen, other tearjerkers are Crazy for You (he accidentally ran over her fiance and served time and then they fall for each other without knowing each other's identities) or Beautiful Days (she is an artistic orphan with leukemia, he an icy rich guy from evil family. But that one is old and is probably too slow for you). Hmmm...

Heh, I think I wanna see this one. Aren't there like a whole bunch of BW movies about this? I wanna see the more east Asian take on it.

Indeed. I spoiled myself, and was so distraught that I never actually finished the series. It was too much.

I don't mind unhappy endings (and it was clear from the star they weren't going to end together) so I'll finish but still...woe!!!

I CRIED FOREVER. But the ending is really well done, one of those "if it had to happen, that was a good way to do it" things.

I am kinda glad I spoiled myself because if I didn't and got that I would be a wreck!
