dangermousie: (Capital Scandal by Fleur on soompi)

When we left off in episode 1, Taro went to dismantle the Singing Gangster for embarassing Suzu but ended up being goaded into a singing contest instead.

And now, as we continue with rural 1950s, longing looks and...Elvis!

Clearly, the Previouslys people know what ladies like me want to be reminded of:

Suzu found out about Taro challenging the Singing Gangster and the contest:

Also, Student-San informs her of it too and I like Student-San, so here is a cap:

Aibu Saki is so gorgeous. So gorgeous.

Singing Gangster performs really well even if he sings like a girl. If he was cuter, younger, skinnier and 50 years later, I'd foresee a great career for him as a Johnny.

Poor hottie is all stressed.

Suzu is not pleased either.

LOL.

The villagers are won over by Singing Mobster's skill (or just blinded by his shirt), even if Suzu and Merry are not:

Crazy Inn-Keeper lady who makes me LOL.

And make Taro look like this (I wonder if some of his child-like immediacy comes from the fact that his memories are only 10 years old?)

I don't normally find smoking hot but...

Innkeeper's performances is the most lol-tastic thing I've seen in a while:

This is here for prettiness not furthering the plot:

Taro is sort 'I am gonna lose' and Suzu slaps him (!!!!) She is all 'put your heart into it, at least.' OMG, gal, you are awesome.

Taro is all petrified but then he follows Innkeeper's advice, clears his mind, picks up a guitar and...starts singing 'Jailhouse Rock.' In Engrish. OMG. It's Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelvis. Could this drama get more awesome?

The villagers love it:

And so does Suzu:

What's not to love?

Seriously.

But Taro doesn't win because the jury was bribed:

Suzu is rather worried. Not about the loss but about this new side of Taro. Is his memory coming back? Would it mean his leaving them?

Meanwhile, Gangster leader Croissant (yes, that's his nick) is not pleased. Singing Mobster might have won the rigged contest but mob is laughingstock as everyone knows Taro should have won:

He tells singing mobster if he wants a recording deal, go kill Taro. You are just jealous because he is hotter, Croissant!

I love them. So much!

The credits are so pretty:

I love all the little family scenes:

Suzu's married and pregnant older sister visits. I love her.

And gives Suzu a hat and some love advice (everyone can tell Suzu is in love with Taro except for Taro :P). Namely to tell him how she feels or he will always see her as a younger sister. And she also very drily says she doesn't think Suzu will be disappointed in results if she confesses. Heee, I guess everyone can tell Taro/Suzu except for the two of them.

Did I mention that meanwhile, gangsters plan other take-overs?

Taro remembers Suzu (who was already bossy) 10 years ago...

Older Sis's husband got stabbed (not seriously) because Singing Mobster mistook him for Taro:

Pretty:

After Older Sis's advice, Suzu gathers her courage and tells Taro she has something to say so to come home early:

Singing Mobster attack! But with no luck. He is clearly a lover not a fighter. It's an awesome scene and I don't want to spoil it by summarizing too much.

To make a long story short, Taro gets some sense into the crazy guy's head and he leaves to lead a better life and warns Taro about Croissant:

Croissant won't give up!

Projectionist tells Taro he shouldn't be so cavalier with his life because if something happens to him, there will be people who will miss him and says he and his wife decided, when they found him, they will take care of him for good.

He helps Mrs. Projectionist do accounts:

Awwww, Suzu! In a totally awkward, adorable scene she makes him promise to stay forever. Oh, just do it already, people!

My favorite scene in the ep. Mobsters potentially got his friend and her parents want him to stay and be safe but she tells him to go because she doesn't want him to be the kind of man who abandons his friend, but he has to keep his promise to come back. Cue staring.

And in conclusion, preview for ep 3 promises me this:

OLD LADY SABAKO. She's the most hardcore character of the entire series. Poor student-san never escapes. (Did you know he's Ohkura from Kanjani8?)

Sabako is awesome!

I wondered why student-san looked familiar!

I heard 'Student-san' or as I call him, Tacchon becomes a jerk or something like that later on. Idk. ._.

Thanks for the caps! :D I have to watch this. XD

Ahhhh best episode ever. When he broke out that guitar and started playing Jailhouse Rock, I let out a very embarrassing high-pitched squeal. I adore student-san and Nagase's face and crazy innkeeper woman... I can't even be coherent about this drama. The only thing to remedy this is a re-watch :DDDDD.
