Jul. 23rd, 2007 04:46 pmHmmm, my drama watching season turned out quite differently from what I thought. But doesn't it always?
Here is why. Here are the currently airing dramas I am watching, from most into, to least (mind you, even the 'least' drama is a big deal because I usually wait for them to finish):
1. Coffee Prince: if someone told me a week ago I'd be so into it, I would have laughed at them. I thought it would be a fun fluff. Maybe. At best. Yet it is everything a good kdrama must be: fluffy, and funny, and romantic and with the hot, and the hints of angst, and irresistable. If I had to pare down my list to one, this would be it. Go go go, men who question their sexuality because they fall for other men. Only said other men are cross-dressing girls.
2. Capitol Scandal: I haven't even heard of this kdrama before last week. But period clothes (1930s)! Love arising out of a bet! Hidden angst and playing in the sand and bare feet and kisses! A bit of politics and a bit of dancing and a bit of glee. Oh MAN.
3. Why Why Love: I love this bit of crack with Mike, Rainie and Kingone. The other ones I love more but this is still super-sparkly.
4. Time Between Dog and Wolf: this could have been hit or miss but I was going to check it out anyway, for Lee Jun Ki playing a messed-up undercover police officer with a childhood love and a bucketfull of issues. Verdict? DELISH.
5. Hana Kimi: (Japan) ummm. This was on my most anticipated list but it disappointed. I am still watching but honestly? I am getting my cross-dressing romance hijinks from Coffee Prince, my angst fix from Wolf, my swoony shipping from Scandal, and my crack from WWL. HK isn't bad at all, but it just doesn't really deliver on any of the above, for me.
P.S. I still haven't finished The Outsiders. I know what happens in ep 18 and am dreading it.
