After a season or two of Korean dramas so lackluster they almost put me off kdramas for good (Hong Gil Dong was the last one I loved, all the way in the winter!) I am happy to say I am finally getting excited about a kdrama again.

The culprit? East of Eden, a period (50s-70s) family-revenge-business-politics saga starring Song Sang Heon, Lee Da Hae, and bunch of others.

I like the premise and the trailer looks amazing:

Let's hope this ends the slump.

Dang, that looks intersting. But it's another loooong one. I may still check it out.

I don't mind the length too much, especially since if a sub group with any reputation for regularity picks it up, it will be just like watching a US TV show: couple eps a week for the duration.

This, Tazza, and Song Il Gook's upcoming period epic about the son of a mad king, are the only three upcoming kdramas that I am even remotely interested in (even the Hyun Bin/Song Hye Kyo one fails to generate enthusiasm). I think if I have to see another romcom or tragicrom or whatever any time soon, I'd kill someone.
