I think I am going to embark on a Veronica Mars rewatch.

Only seasons 1 and 2. Season 3 is dead to me.

But (related to the above), even though I think the show self-destructed spectacularly in S3, I never understood Rob Thomas hate. Even if I agree that he derailed the show in S3 (VM really was written to be a one season show. S2 only worked because it tied up every possible end from S1), none of the characters or the perfect S1 and the good S2 would exist without him. Not to mention he is partly responsible for giving me Logan Echolls, my teevee boyfriend :)

Here is a Logan/Veronica kissing vid to get me in the mood.

Oh, and yes, indeed. The Breakfast Club was as awesome as ever. Every time I find something new. And Bender=EEEEE!

VM is always excellent. :)
But Logan Echools is MY TV boyfriend(unless you count Logan from Dark Angel) - what are you talking about?

and oh, dangermousie, I can't stand this drama anymore. In WWL, I'm totally on the General Manager's side. Yes, I realize he's somewhat dry and etc. etc. but after all these months of messed up, complicated, bad-boy, incredibly STUPID dorama heroes, I'm really appreciating his qualities as opposed to Huo Da's(not to mention he's at LEAST as good looking. Are there any good dramas in which Kingone is the lead? Because that's something I'd like to see. Not to bash Mike He who is always drool-worthy). Huo Da is so frickin dysfunctional, idiotic and stupid for hurting Jia Di as much as possible(can you tell which point in the drama I'm at?) while Huo Yan is so completely dependable and trustworthy and steady and adores her. I just fundamentally love his character - his integrity, his steadiness - and he's not weak either, as many drama secondary characters are - he possesses a real strength of mind and emotion. gah!

or maybe I just like him cause he's so pretty to look at and so reserved. :) with Huo Da, everything is there, on the surface - by the end of this drama I"m finding him faintly boring. Huo Yan, on the other hand, is still largely an enigma, and therefore at the moment at least more interesting.

also, I seriously need a comedy next. Have you seen Sweet Relationship? Oh, I know WWL is relatively light, but after a summer drama marathon which included Mars right before WWL, the emotional angst is draining me. I need something REALLY bubbly!

I like HY but he is a difficult person and I think all wrong for Jia Di (I ;posted about it when I first watched). Adore Huo Da though. But YMMV.I don't know any dramas where Kingone was lead but he got the girl in Wish to see you again (with Vic Zhou who had his own girl).

I think, also, what I really respect about Huo Yan is his generosity. That's where he's strong - when he loses the fight with Huo Da over Jia Di, he lets her go immediately, with a smile for her, and supports them as a couple whole-heartedly after that. Huo Da would have crumpled into a ball and lashed out viciously at anyone that came around him, in particular Jia Di. Huo Yan's unselfishnes is one of his major qualities.

and oh God - gotta say, one of my favorite moments of the drama is when HY punches HD for saying he can't stand Jia Di's irritating crying.

But is it generosity? I always find it odd when people give up too easily: it makes me think they are not strongly emotionally attached. I really don't think they are a good match: he is too reserved, too hands-off, too closed-off. Jia Di is pretty closed off herself, under the bubbly facade, she nees someone to push her to be free and act out and have fun.

I've always been rather proud of myself for not watching S3.

IIRC, it was when I heard that she went off on Weevil, accusing him of lying to her about taking something of hers. Because...uhm...Weevil always very very very carefully did not lie to Veronica. Stupid in some ways, but too smart to try that one.

I don't even remember that part: most of S3 is a merciful blur.

Ah the Rob Thomas hate. Never understood that. He's the one who created Veronica and Logan and Weevil and all those awesome characters and yet people like to bash him. Le sigh.

To be honest, I liked Season 3. Maybe it's cos I'm such a hardcore fan or something, I really don't know but I enjoyed it. (Yeah there were definitely some crappy episodes and it was nowhere as fantastic as Season 1 and a lot of the time the anti-Piz rage consumed me but Season 3 had Spit & Eggs, a lot more Ryan Hansen and Mac and good music.) I have nothing more to say other than Veronica Mars was amazing, Season 1 was one of the best seasons in tv history, Rob Thomas rocks and I am most likely the only person in the entire world who likes Season 3. Okay, I'm done now :D

I can't bring myself to watch the last two episodes of season 3. I want to, I really do but I just can't stomach the Veronica/Piz. I just can't. do. it. I spent so much of s3 filled with an ever increasing "WTF" face, that it just seems like a pointless endeavour. Yet I always try to finish things I start, so I will complete it ... one day. Maybe I'll do my own S1 & S2 re-watch so I can remember why I loved it so very, very much and increase my interest.

Even if I agree that he derailed the show in S3 (VM really was written to be a one season show. S2 only worked because it tied up every possible end from S1)

Dude. I've said this before (probably commented in this journal about it) but I've always felt that VMars was a one season show. I probably wouldn't have been thrilled at the time but after getting used to the Asian drama (one, maybe two season series) format, I really feel that they could have stopped at season 2 (I liked season 2, so I would keep it as well). I wish more American networks would try it out.

Piz made me want to stab him. Urk.

And yes, VM would have been a perfect dorama.
