"Prayer" was really, really bad, but Crichton and co rescued her before any permanent damage was inflicted. If I understood correctly, what happens to Kara is irreversible. I'm not happy about that at all. What is it with torturing women in sci-fi by doing something to their reproductive organs?

I don't know shit, but ovaries produce female hormones, right? Don't you have severe hormonal problems if they're completely removed? *shudders* Nope, not looking forwards to this storyline. And I was never afraid of a pregnant Kara story, so...eek, really.

Well, there are pills you take that would stabilize you. People do have their ovaries removed in RL. No idea how that would work in scifi context though.

I think nothing can kill those fics. If anything, it might make it worse, because the ovaries and the way to make Kara pregnant might become a major plot point. But they're easy to avoid, unlike the horrible things that happen on the show! Can you tell that I'm having a hard time with that storyline? :)

I think removal of ovaries stops the production of estrogen, and Kara will need to be put on hormone replacement therapy to ease the transition to menopause...uhm, not sure if the writers are going into that much detail---I mean, the show uses Dr. Balter, a computer scientist as their resident Generic Science Guy who does everything from simple bench work to designing and building his own cylon detector.....

He's scruffy and hot), but he appears to still have his Viper wings. And the pic where Starbuck and him are holding each other? Starbuck looks like "er, I think I'm going to run away now". :)

Uh Gah! I, too am a bit turned on by the pic of Lee holding the gun to Sharon and Helo holding the gun to Lee. I thought of the Princess Bride when I saw Lee wanting to attack Sharon -- I am Lee Adama, you shot my father, prepare to die! LOL!!!!

I keep vacillating on the posting of it.

I mean, it's honestly just be me being bitchy and vaguely unfair since I haven't actually seen the episode so I can't know for sure how it will all play out...but I had a very negative reaction to the spoilers for pretty much Kara's entire arc for the first quarter of the season.

Everything else has me just chomping at the bit and all excited, but Kara in eps 4 and 5 specifically. Gah.
