This is from the set of The Decameron and thus I am even more confused about whether it's a period movie or not (and how do you adopt The Decameron, anyway?)

In other news, through the magic of the Internet, have found out the ending of Parineeta (at least the previous version). Yay!

Hee! Those are some adorable pics. *joins community*

I try not to fangirl stars who are younger than me, but RotS last night showed me that I'll have to make an exception.

Squeee!

Yeah, I have the same rule and it was quite weird to find myself being fangirly over Hayden. But then I got over it :D Still, no one under 21 rule holds fast.

P.S. Probably good practice for when I am a matronly 50.

I was just musing in answer to your post on my journal about how they were going to adapt Decameron. There are several ways they could go and I honestly hope they don't screw it up because I really do love the book.

I think if they pick 3 or 4 stories with an overall framing story they might be OK.

Didn't Fellini make an earlier adaptation? Or am I losing my mind....

Yeah, I agree that that's probably the best way to go at trying to string together short stories. Since Hayden and Mischa are the only main actors I've heard about I wonder if they're going to string together several stories and make them all about them. Or they could go at it like one of them telling the story but both of them being the characters in the story.

I don't remember an earlier adaption but I'm sure there's bound to be one somewhere.

There was an earlier version (I looked it up_

It was by P.P. Pasolini (whom I loathe because of his "Sodom" which is just unbearable (all torture and rape and horribleness). He made a movie version in 1971 which was X rated (!!!!!) but has now been downgraded to a "measly" NC-17. Ugh. Not touching that one with a 10-foot pole (no pun intended).

Re: stories. Maybe other actors also have important roles, but since they aren't "names" at all, the makers needed at least some names to get the $. A lot of foreign flicks do it that way.

Hey, even if it's awful, it'll be better than Pasolini's horror.

The horror! The HORROR! Yeah, somehow that doesn't seem faithful to the book. At least not the book I read.
