He is so gorgeous...probably the King of the Plant Kingdom, or something.

I keep ogling it (him?)...

Now I want a Mrs. Potatohead with all of Padme's outfits. But I think I'll have no luck with that.

Also, saw Cinderella Man. Russell Crowe amazing, but the movie rather maudlinly manipulative. Made me feel heartless as people were applauding or sniffling. Oh well. Also, the movie's portrayal of Max Baer, Braddock's opponent, pissed me off. Even before I knew anything about him, I thought it was such a stereotypical "bad guy" act, like a bad melodrama, and blatantly manipulative. And after I actually read an article in the Baltimore Sun here just about how much the film-makers screwed up with his character to provide an evil opponent, I am pissed enough to spit nails, as the real Baer sounds really interesting. Ugh. This manipulative, simplistic, maudlin movie better not win best picture.

I hate manipulative movies. Mostly because I am very easily manipulated and feel like an idiot when everyone else is being heartless.
The movie looked like it was trying way too hard. The most heart wrenching movies are the one where it just seems to flow with the story, it doesn't seem like the makers are like "Yeah, let's have them cry here, here, and here."
A Padme Mrs. Potatohead is something I would pay good money for. Good. Money.

Oooooo! I would buy the Mrs. Potatohead with Padmé's outfits in a hearbeat! They honestly ought to market that.

My Darth Tater is for my dad...but I kind of want to keep him. Mwah!

I don't like Russel Crowe. Manipulative movies really annoy me. And yet they seem to always be the ones the idiot critics applaud.

I think you should keep the Darth Tater. He already has abandonment issues, as his Mom gave him away right after he budded :)

I wonder what is says about me that I much prefer the really dark ROTS which is all about the descent of a good man into Vader to the "uplifting" yay for underdogs flick.

Oh yes, it was trying WAAAAAAAY too hard.

I remember watching Titanic and crying and at the same time being really pissed at myself for doing so as I just *knew* it was manipulative and I didn't even like the characters. Now, THAT is manipulative skill!

That's true. Poor little spud. *cuddles him*

Well, I agree with you about ROTS. So whatever that says about you, it also says about me. Which is fine, because I prefer it that way. :) I don't know, I always feel like "uplifting" movies like that are patronizing. ROTS feels so honest and I connect with it. I don't feel preached to or like I need to find something, because in ROTS I can find it without having to look. (If that makes any sense at all...)

I cry during...every single movie. I saw Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants on Friday, and I sobbed through the entire thing (a detailed account on my lj), knowing it was so manipulative but just not caring. Titanic is extremely skillfull. I was actually talking about this with my friend, and I realized that everybody is kind of manipulative without knowing it.
