His breaking into the prison to free her was awesome.

Complicated stuff with Honglie happens. I love how torn YK is - Honglie is the man he must seek vengeance on but he ultimately cannot (I do not blame Nianci for not sharing that view - she has no attachment to Honglie and the man killed her adopted father).

It is no secret I am all about YK/Nianci with this drama but I dare anyone to watch Guo Jing and Huang Rong together and not melt. The thing is, GJ/HR are children (yes, HR too - she is a clever child but a child, really). Even their love is innocent (clever clever HR didn't get the reference to some villain who kept seducing/raping virgins at all, and neither did GJ - I am sure their combined sex knowledge is nil) but I don't even mean that - their feelings have the childlike purity and immediacy and joy. And so far the world has been kind to their innocence - so far they haven't had to face harsh tests and murky moral dilemmas like those of YK/Nianci (who are forced to become grownups).

Speaking of...DID I GET THIS WRONG OR DID THE SLIMY SOLDIER BASICALLY WANT NIANCI TO PROSTITUTE HERSELF?

I knew it! I knew he was finally going to snap. He pulls out the Jin royal token.

Soldiers run off but Nianci throws a fit about him forsaking his true name blah blah blah. OK, Nianci, I normally like you, but here you are being an idiot. Would you rather he let you get raped? Or that the both of you got dragged to the dungeons for more torturing and super-painful death? Apparently yes. Ugh. Get over it. In case you haven't figured it out, I am completely on YK's side here. In fact, the best thing for all concerned, IMO, would be for YK to go back and be a loved and spoiled Jin Prince - not only is it a much more pleasant existence, I do not see the point in pointless suffering and Jins and Songs are about morally even to me. Another best thing? For YK to go back and thus for Nianci and him to break up. Them hooking up is hot and romantic and provides me with moments of pure shippy heaven but realistically speaking, YK would have been miles better off if he's never met her (or his bio father) and now she pushes him into all these things which are, objectively, against his self-interest (ultimately he goes to return the token) and Nianci would be more compatible with someone of her own station and someone who shares her black-and-white view of the world and who can get used to everyday powerlessness that goes with being an average citizen in a medieval society.

ETA: And now YK found out that frameup/torture/rescue was all part of Honglie's plan to get him back. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. Heads are going to roll (though seriously, you'd think in a society with so many aerial-using martial artists, they'd freaking guard the roofs against intruders).
