Begging for layout help

Someone, how do I insert background? Actually, I managed to insert one, but it really is a background, and instead of the text showing on it, it is overlaid with the regular white screen.

And while we are at it, how do I learn how to make a header and all the other good stuff. People on my flist seem to manage, so please help.

ETA: To be really nice (and because I am desperate), I WILL BUY YOU ADDITIONAL USERPICS FOR A YEAR, if you:

a. help me to insert background so my text has the background I want (I have one) as opposed to the monotone color and
b. teach me how to change the "friends", "userinfo" etc into tags of my own chosing and
c. show me how to put links to websites and
d. show me how to insert the header
e. show me how to insert mood themes (the last one is least important).

I can design my own (or get someone else's who is offering mood themes, color bars etc) but I need help in placing them.

Right now I am in S2, but I can obviously easily switch into S1 if that would help.

Please? Pretty please?

Most layouts within the S2 style system allow you to add a page background image to your journal via the S2 customization area and is available for all users, regardless of paid/unpaid status. Details on which layouts allow this customization can be seen at http://www.livejournal.com/community/s2howto/16047.html.

To add a background image go to http://www.livejournal.com/customize/ and click on the button labeled either "Customize" or "Edit customizations". Depending on your layout, the area to add a page background image can be found either in the "Presentation" tab or in the "background" tab.

You can then enter a background image in the format of http://www.example.com/image.jpg. You will need to replace this example with the actual URL of the image you want to use as your background.

Any image you wish to add must first be uploaded to a webspace provider that allows remote loading to LiveJournal.

Anyway, even if I don't 100% know how, I can mess around with it easy.

I think if you want the actual TEXT to go on top of an image (and not just the white text-boxes), I'd have to customize your layout. Which would require codes and stuff. I can try that this weekend, too.

I read all these, but when I tried messing with it, it didn't work in the least. E.g. I did have the background image, but the monochrome blue (or white) color overlay it so it was as if I had no image at all.

If I send you the images I want for background and for colorbar on top (and my password), would you be able to put them in? And change my designations e.g. from "friends" to (e.g.) "item dancers"?

Btw, how do I do an entry just for you. I am not very good at setting filters either (obviously).

You go to Manage: Friends, Edit Custom Friends Groups, click New, make a group, and add only my username to it. Save. :-)
