Lee Da Hae will be playing the leading female role, ‘Jang Miri’, a woman who finds herself in utter chaos because of the one lie she mistakenly makes.

Kim Seung Woo, a cold man who managed to rise from poverty to become a hotel manager, falls in love with Lee Da Hae at the risk of losing everything he has worked for.

Park Yoochun will complete the love triangle by playing the role of ‘Yutaka’, the son of a famous Japanese resort CEO. Through Lee Da Hae, Park Yoochun comes to understand what true love is, but unfortunately, does so at the price of his own downfall.

Kang Hye Jung will be the caring and innocent ‘Na Hee Ju’, Lee Dae Hae’s adopted sister of Lee Da Hae. Like the two men fighting for Lee Da Hae’s love, Kang Hye Jung is also pulled into harm’s way because of her since she refuses to tell the scandalous secret surrounding her sister.

Though going by the order they list characters/actors, there is no way Yoochun is getting the girl. Boooo! Kim Seung Woo leaves me completely and utterly cold in every way, sex appeal especially (also, he is way too old for LDH, though if anyone could pull off pairing with an older man it would be the awesomeness that is LDH).

boo. :( I wanted Yoochun to get the girl! But yea...it sounds like he will not be the one. :( We can still hope for the majority of the season...

What? Why isn't Yoochun gonna get the girl? He cannot go from playing the 1st male lead to 2nd fiddle! It's not supposed to work that way! And besides, he looks much better with LDH than Kim Seung Woo does!

But in further character descriptions and recent articles (check the soompi thread), it says Yoochun is her true love, while Kim Seung Woo is just a man she will use to get to where she wants to go. Her dilemma will come when she realizes when she has to choose between her love and ambition... and if she even has a choice after the shit that she will burt herself in.

Since it is inspired by the real-life big time liar, Shin Jung Ah's story, Shin was involved with a real older guy who she teamed up with to fake her credentials and give the biggest lie in Korean academic history.

I love Yoochun, and I'm actualy okay with him not getting the girl or playing the lead in Ripley because although he def. has potential, his acting is still green so I believe a supporting role, especially working with more experience actors, will be a great opportunity for him to learn and hone his skills.

May is gonna be an awesome drama month, isn't it? Why can't it be here already, like now?!

I think this will be interesting, because its based on a true story. A woman lied about her university degrees - said she went to school in America, had honors, etc - and her boyfriend helped her get this huge profile job. She was not the usual type of drama heroine. In fact, I doubt Lee Da Hae will be a typical drama heroine - she might be the anti-heroine. That could be interesting.
