Tree of Heaven: come on, this is like al the things I love, at once!

OK. I know I have been spamming.

But their first meeting is amazing.

She is crying, in the middle of the square, and then she sees him.

And he stands there, just staring at her.

And he stretches his arms and she stumbles into them.

And I wonder at the set look on his face.

BUT OMG OMG. He decided to drive her away, completely.

They go to dinner and it's awkward and he tries to be cold but his eyes totally betray him and she tells him she has so many things to say and somehow he ends up asking her if she wants him to sketch her. And she is sobbing and OMG he is sitting there and the large pad of paper is between them so it's just their eyes, and he starts crying too. AND OMG INTENSE. And he can't draw and is just clutching the pencil. And he tells her she doesn't have to say anything or do anything, just look at him.

OMG.

And she asks him if he is done drawing and he says yes and gives her the pad and she looks at it, and it's blank but there are traces of tears on it!!! I really have no words for the intensity of their dinner, seriously.

But that's the last weakness he allows himself and he stalks out and she is running after him. And he tells her he's forgotten her and gets into a car. And he is whispering 'I have hurt you. I am sorry' and OMG. My brain derails because he looks much too gorgeous devastated.

Meanwhile we find out that the Mob Boss really likes him because apparently he is some sort of high-stakes assassin who helped him rub out his opponents two years ago (am I right? My subs are wonky). And Maya determines to make a play for him because he is the successor.

And Auntie reveals to Maya about the deaths of the parents. OMG! Bitch. If they knew about the deaths and the fact that they aren't legally siblings anyone back then, it would have made such a difference. Now, not so much, as his mob career is much more in the way of anything.

I love how they are equally mad about each other. No exes one has to forget, nothing like that. They are just all about each other to a crazy degree.

I loved that drawing scene with the tears!! I was so happy she finally got her wish to see him after all these years. I cried at that part I thought it was so beautiful.

I cried too. But then ToH makes me cry regularly. The thing I love about it is that even though it's so angsty it doesn't feel depressing. It's just too beautiful.

Exactly. I love the latter just fine (Full House e.g. is adorable) but sometimes I just love 'no one else for them ever' thing even more and this is just so...passionate. I am so in love. Seriously, I am so grateful for the rec. This is so going into my top 10 dramas.

I loved the drawing pad with tears scene. Gah! He constantly turns me to mushy puddle of tears. Yeah, you're right. He helped his boss by killing off his opponent two years ago so thanks to YS he has his position.

I really love that they have such passionate love for each other too. It's so wonderfully intense. I feel like I can't breathe sometimes. You're making me want to rewatch it!

I know! It's so intense. When they look at each other it's as if nothing else exists outside, for them. The actors have amazing chemistry.

But I guess the opponent isn't really dead? There was mention of it...

They really do. *sigh* It's really weird shes the same girl in Goong S. I prefer her much more as Hana though. Part of me thinks though if there wasn't Lee Wan I probably wouldn't watch. He really makes Tree amazing.

Yeah, Goong S I don't know. Should be angst building up soon (i'm up to 12th ep) but so far it's not that much. Sometimes I think it's good and other times I wonder why I'm still watching. I guess it's more fluff drama since everything else so angsty.

Good thing it wasn't a topless cap. We would never get to press post comment, lol. I can't think of anything fluffy thats worth watching. I wouldn't rec Goong S it was pretty boring the first hand full of episodes. Think it was around 6/7 that got bit better. Yeah, I got really sidetrack with Tree. I was planning to finish Hwang Ji Yi but I watched all of Tree instead.
