Oh LOVEHOLIC.

Why why WHY are you so awesome?
1. Uniforms. You cannot go wrong with uniforms. And I actually like these ones, especially the grey suits on the boys.
2. Add another hero to the list of the ones who rides a motorcycle. YAY. And who is all cool and quiet, and is totally a problem guy, what with being in a school gang (though significantly, when the rest of them are beating up some cute, adorable, glasses-wearing guy for money, he is off by himself spacing out on the roof). Mmmm, I love my alphas.
3. MMMMM. Chemistry. And intense eye-frelling. Whoa. Every time the hero and the heroine are on screen together, the thing just heats up. I just love that bit where he walks into class late (first time they know who each other is) and there is this total silent, intense moment. Or the way he looks at her.
4. This whole thing has a very manga vibe, somehow. Plus something extra. I love it. Seriously, it’s like Forbidden Love crossed with Sang-Doo crossed with Gokusen. YAY. Best idea ever.
5. Fighting. Granted, not wuxia, but after Bollywood, I am quite lenient on this front and it’s fun to see people kick things. Especially girls who are good at kicking things and taking names. When there are mysterious mentions of said girls needing 'to take their medicine' which in kdrama angst-speak feels me with glee because I want some mysterious disease in this story.
6. Forbidden Lurve. Who could resist?
7. If you are a woman, nothing says ‘I love you’ like accidentally killing the guy who is tormenting your (male) OTP.
9. Except taking the blame on yourself because she’s erased it from her memory in shock and going to jail. (Pssst, you sure you want to do that, boy? You are awfully pretty, you know).
9. Thing making me glee more than the above? Hero getting out of jail five years later to discover his OTP is engaged to someone else.
10. And only thing even better? Running and crying with reunions and happy endings and more hurt-comfort than one could ever want.

Date: 2007-01-23 07:35 pm (UTC)This is 16 episodes long.
I admit I prefer kdramas the most (though there is nothing like an awesomely done twdrama, and I find twdrama guys the hottest). Then twdramas, only then jdramas (they are usually not swoonily romantic and/or colorful enough for me to be ranked first. There are exceptions of course like Hanadan or Forbidden Love or Pride or Kamisama or Kurosagi etc.)
P.S.

Date: 2007-01-23 07:42 pm (UTC)And yeah, I know I'm in the minority in preferring jdramas...though, the list of kdramas I want is steadily growing, while the jdramas list is shrinking, so it may change eventually.

Date: 2007-01-23 07:51 pm (UTC)There is a really cool girl who seems to be the hero's friend (if she is a triangle person, I say bring it on because I like her), but I can't say I care for the folks he hangs out with. There is a bear of a kid who is like *blanks on name of that character in Gokusen* but considering we just saw him rob and then beat the adorable hottie in glasses just for looking at him funny, I dunno about sidekicks in this one (if any).
Re: P.S.
Date: 2007-01-23 07:56 pm (UTC)*sniff* Kuma would never do such a thing.
These sound like the kind of guys the Gokusen kids would get into a fight with, then Yankumi would beat up.
Re: P.S.
Date: 2007-01-23 08:01 pm (UTC)If it makes you feel better, our hero is shown only to be brawling with other equally violent young men, not beating up weaklings for lunch money.
I also have a suspicion that the bear of a kid is not long for this world as he might be the guy the heroine accidentally offs.

Date: 2007-01-23 08:38 pm (UTC)I just got my DVDs of Satomi Hakkenden and Majo No Jouken yesterday and am now very much tempted to start on either of them. Then there's Hanoi Bride which I found at youtube, and Waneeh and Junah, a film with JJM, plus all those other dramas on my to-be-watched pile... There's never enough time to watch everything :).
