A few weeks back I did a series of posts about really horrendous fanfic. Well, this one is about good fanfic archives. Those archives where not only are stories gramatically correct, but also do not have amber-haired Mary Sue offspring of Darth Vader, or a half-Elf love interest of Harry Potter. Here are a few, but I am looking for more:

FARSCAPE:
http://forums.scaperoute.com
The Unrealized Reality Boards and the Archives. For excellent Farscape fic. Lots of it.

HARRY POTTER
http://www.sugarquill.net
Flourish and Blotts, the Professor's Bookshelf. For lots and lots of good Harry Potter fic. (ahhh, oasis). Even if it has Sirius or Snape and OFC it is not going to be a MarySue! Warning: this is a R/H shipper site, so while there are many MANY stories involving other characters and other ships (e.g. Sirius/Remus for slashers), if you are looking for H/H, it is not the site for you. If anyone knows of a good H/H oriented site, I'd be glad to know.

LORD OF THE RINGS and GENERAL MIDDLE EARTH:
http://www.henneth-annun.net
Good LotR (or ME) fanfic is almost as rare as good HP fanfic, but this site's got it. 90% on it is excellent.

STAR WARS:
I know there has to be one, but I am not sure where. Please, kind people, recommend.

BSG2003:
http://www.livejournal.com/community/bsg_creative
Has a lot of good fic. This fandom fic seems to be largely lj based (though I'd love to be proven wrong) but surely there is a good archive or two out there of which I am ignorant. What is it?
Though http://www.livejournal.com/commuity/bsg2003fics has a decent amount of good stuff as well.

I've had very good luck at www.masterapprentice.org.
That's all TPM.
I know there's an Original Series Han/Luke archive but I don't have the archive address.

www.masterapprentice.org is usually pretty solid. Not every archive is perfect, but it's good. Most of it is slash of course, so the stuff won't be for everybody.

Did you ever end up reading my Simpsons/Futurama fanfic?

Yup. It was hilarious. I loved the way the character voices came across.

For BSG, octogonalpaper.com is a- is "selective archive" a phrase? Anyway, it's small, but what's there is the good stuff. (And now I feel awkward, because *I* have stories on there, but it's not like I run the place, I swear!)

Thank you! And no need to be modest. Your "Garden Enclosed" is one of the earliest and best BSG fics I've ever read.

Woo! Yay, you actually did read it! Now I'm content! :)

For some reason, I can't handle reading HP or LOTR fanfic. I don't mind at all that people write/read it, but I can't. I guess the books are enough for me?

SW is a different story, on the rare occasion when the fic is good! (That's why I loved the little bit you wrote.) But then, I love a lot of the Star Wars novels, and really those are just elevated forms of fanfiction, anyway. :)

There has only been one fandom for which I couldn't read fic (I thought it was absolutely 100% perfect as is), and nobody writes fic for it anyway (Lymond Chronicles by Dorothy Dunnett).

As to the rest, bring it on :)

You've mentioned the Lymond Chronicles before, now I'm even more curious! *had urge to investigate them*

If you find good SW fic, point me to it! :)

*cringes in horror at the mere thought of Lymond fanfic* I hope nobody's ever tried that, thought I don't think anybody could achieve Dunnett's style and attention to detail.

I found one. I am scarred for life as it involved Lymond going mad after Phillipa dies. *curls in a balls, rocks and moans*

Will do.

Lymond Chronicles is very good, but it starts a bit slowly (is 6 thick volumes after all). Heck, might be even more fun to start reading with Book 6 if you like impossible romances, except you'd be a bit lost about the rest of the references.

But yeah, so good....
