I haven't seen the manga, but I can well believe it. Manga hair translated exactly into doramas is the bane of my existence. Just thinking of Domyouji's hair in HYD is horrifying (I will forever love TPTB of Meteor garden because 1/3 through the show they just decided to hell with it and gave DMS nice hair. I went from thinking 'eeeek, a rat's nest!' to 'OMG! He is HOT!' in two seconds flat).
Also, Meng is supposed to be scary, but I am sorry. He has pins in his hair so I can't really quake :P

True. And the pigtails WERE adorable but I haven't worn pigtails since I was 12. I guess I can fanwank it into her being unworldly, but naaaaaah. I'll just chalk it up to dorama fashion :P
