Omkara (and Mars)
Jul. 30th, 2006 12:26 pmAfter thinking it over, I've decided that Omkara is both my favorite Bollywood movie, and my favorite movie Shakespeare adaptation (it bumped off Branagh's Hamlet off the top spot). I can't stop thinking about it and simply must see it again. Of course, as with any movie I am in love with, apparently it's shaping to be a horrible flop probably because it doesn't have over-made-up phony college students dancing in Switzerland. Argh. It does seem to have the rare distinction of no single bad review about in on BWhat thread so far.
And yes, I still have that long Mars post to make. Later. I do have to say the thing I love the most about this is that no matter how OTT the situations, the characters feel real and so does their response.
