Please?

OK, is there a version of Meteor Garden that has good subtitles? The subs on my (official) version drive me crazy. Like a fansub version? I can't burn discs on my comp but if anyone has one (or knows where to get it) and is willing to do it for me, I'll pay.

It really is driving me bonkers.

I remember that the subtitles are very schizophrenic: one moment the they will have the English subjunctive used perfectly and the next they blow something very basic. I got the feeling they were done by two totally different people with very different levels of English.

It's not bad by sub standards. I have a copy of the anime MG is based on, and 49 out of 51 eps are subbed beautifully. An English teacher would love it. And two random eps in the middle are horrifyingly bad, where I have to pause and try to figure what is going on, as if the translator went out and took a break and they got the janitor to do those.

Keep an eye out for the JEM subs that were captured from the Singapore broadcast of the series - those are in decent Engilsh. I have them and will upload them for you if you want but it might take a little while :)

Thanks for the heads up. I think I might have gotten my hands on a good subbed version so I'll see how it works out. But if not, thanks for the offer and I might impose on your generosity. :)
