I am not locking this, either. Just like badfic, this deserves to be mocked.

Oh My God. People have petitions and letter campaigns and everything against the new recurring female character on S2 Supernatural.

Get a life, freaks! Seriously. Fictional. OK. Fictional. Character you know little about. If she hooks up with a fictional character you like, which is always a possibility, calm yourself by repeating 'these are fictional characters. Ergo I can't date them anyway.'

Ugh. UGH. I have no idea if the character will be cool or will suck, but the attitude of loathing her on principle and making petitions just because OMG, she might mack on a fictional character you like is...crazed.

It reminds me of the loonies who had a petition for Joss to change Serenity in regards to Wash.

And last but not least yes, the invention and proliferation of interactive forums, conventions etc where fans can interact with TPTB, is a cool thing. But this isn't storytelling by collective. It's still what TPTB want. If you want everything according to your plan, write fanfic. Or better yet come up with a story of your own. You might not like the direction of the story, but to demand change is bizarre.

Ugh.

Now I am off to try to write to whoever created Ouran High School Host Club and tell them that I hate Haruhi and she should be transferred to China in the next volume because Tamaki, even though clearly fictional and actually a drawn collection of very attractive lines belongs to me in my imagination. Toodles.

You can say that again! Like, maybe try seeing her on the show before gathering the pitchforks. Sheesh.

Hahaha, um, excuse me? Tamaki is mine kthnx.

Except I have a bit of a girlcrush on Haruhi too. She makes such a cute boy!

I sort of have urges to make a post on a sn community asking why people dislike the spoilers other than the fact that their fictional marriages are ruined. Because these people are sort of scaring me into thinking that my fandom is full of crazy fictional wedding obsessed little girls. Plus, it'd be fun to read.. *goes off to make post*

Is the petition about the mother/daughter team? I'm really excited to actually see that story line. It's not even season 2 yet and they're already complaining. Oy.

Ahh Tamaki, what episode are you at now anyways?

You are a brave brave woman. I tremble for you. But yes, seriosuly, fantasy life is OK but that is taking it too far.

Yup, it's the mother/daughter thing.

I just finished ep 8 and I am going to make a whole post about it. Tamaki and Haruhi and thunder. Oh my. I am swooning.

I keep needing to delete everything I've typed and restart because I keep going on rants to the stupid fangirls who need to get lives and realize that even if girls never ever guest starred on SN, it is impossible for them to ever marry any of the Winchesters. This is tougher than I thought it would be..

Exactly. She might suck for all I know. But shouldn't people give it a chance?

haha watch me post a crazy rant at idiotic fangirls and get kicked out of the community. I almost want to make another journal just to post something, and then they can kick me out.

Does this sound good? (I suck at posting. I always write really long posts and delete them right before I post them/right after I post them. I'm bad at it)

I was wondering, what are people's reasons for hating the season2 spoilers other than that their marriages to fictional characters are ruined? I mean actual, in depth, logical reasons about the brother's relationship or just how you feel about the show. Because, lets face it, none of us are ever going to marry Sam or Dean, and some of you must have actual reasons why you dislike the idea of a love interest for Dean in next season.

Sometimes I am shamed for my fandom.

Okay, a lot of times I'm shamed for my fandom, but this is a more extreme case. I still cannot conceive why these spoilers have caused such a violent fuss. The irony is half of these people have WRITTEN this character at some point in time in their fanfic.

If she's done well I wouldn't mind an OTP for Dean at all (since he seems to be the one everyone is thinking Alex is going to sink her evil female claws into). Let's face it, I LIKE OTPs. Yes, but what about the brotherly chemistry. Well, the last time I checked she wasn't riding in the back seat of the car. Sheesh.

In order not to be banned, I'd probably rephrase it to:

Because, lets face it, none of us are ever going to marry Sam or Dean, so there must be other reasons why people dislike the idea of a love interest for Dean in next season.

And of course appropriate spoiler cuts and what not.

But then it's their character, an extension of self. Yeah, I really do think that.

Let's face it, I LIKE OTPs.

Me too. It has potential for drama and conflict and that's always good.

But she isn't going to be a lead. Just a recurring character. That could be just fine, IMO.

Dear Stupid People,

This is why their is fanfic. If you don't like a new character, write her out of the show. Kill her off in various entertaining ways that allow you to pair yourself up with your character of choice in the process. Completely ignore her existence. But get over it.

Mockingly, Me

I wouldn't be surprised if the new characters suck, since Supernatural isn't exactly the most amazingly well-written show in the world, but it's kind of ridiculous to go to these lengths to avoid them even being on the show. People are crazy...

Date: 2006-07-18 04:29 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] dangermousie.livejournal.com
Exactly. It's 50/50 on whether the new characters will be any good. But to freak out to such a degree before anything even happens is crazy. People, Dean and Sam will never be yours, even if all fictional women died. Because they don't exist. *sigh*

I'm not a fan of random chicks coming on SPN, but I'm really really against bugging TPTB about it.

That's asking for them to do the exact opposite of what you want, anyway.

Apparently not politely enough. Everyone seems to be quite offended that I've accused some of the fandom of being crazy little fangirls who want to get married to them. I'm officially hated.. :/

Fandom has been pulling stupid things like that for ages now. I am no longer surprised at how frothed with rage people can get over fictional characters.

It reminds me of the loonies who had a petition for Joss to change Serenity in regards to Wash.

NOOOOOOOOO! SPOILERS! *sad face*

I think it's the bugging of TPTB that gets me. Some part of the fandom always dislikes this or that character anyhow (SPN is actually not subject to this so far because they only have two main characters, hee), but to actually have petitions is pretty over the top. It's not going to do any good either, just make one look like a loonie.

Clearly I have not been paying enough attention, because I have yet to even hear of this seeming travesty of a female character.

But seriously...this is ridiculous. What is wrong with these fangirls? Loving a show is one thing, but writing petitions? Is cause for concern.
