I am quite looking forward to Bunti aur Babli. In part because I liked the director (Saathiya), but mainly because Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukherjee are my new and favorite on-screen BW couple. They were messed-up and passionate in Yuva, but here they are fun and capery. And their story is the whole movie, not just 1/2 or a third. Yay. Plus, first time you see Amitabh acting with his son.

It looks like a zany screwball flick. The plot: a pair of con artists swindle people using various disguises. Think Bonnie and Clyde on drugs :)

So here are pics. Lots of them. I am also xposting this to [livejournal.com profile] bollywood and the Bollywhat boards.

Bumpkiny-looking Abhi in one of his disguises:

But I wouldn't trust him to tell me which way is up:

In the 80s, Russian TV announcers would have envied her get-up:

Abhishek, repeat after me: "I am not a pimp. I am not a pimp. I am not a pimp. I will not dress like one."

He listened:

Don't try this at home:

And the mystery of Amitabh's different colored hair and beard continues. Make up your mind. Either all grey or all black:

Rani in the fashion-blind army:

Oooh, love the look on her face:

My fave. Because of the look on his face:

Am I going crazy, or did Bg B get highlights?

Veeru and Jai together again, singing Yeh Dosti? Except it's Jai-junior and Veeru suffered (or enjoyed, depending on your point of view) a gender change.

Rani having fun:

Awwww. *melts*

For some odd reason, Abhi looks like Victor Mature in profile:

Heee:

Wow. You updated three times while I was asleep.
She has great eyes. and colorful transportation. Sometimes, life is just not fair.

ROFL! I like to post a lot late at night or early in the mornings :) But I don't know the time zone you are in.

On the plus side, I don't think your future companion will be fond of putting on fake mustaches.

Good stuff!

I love the pictures, thanks for putting them up!

I am looking forward to this flick too, it looks like zany fun! Plus I too love the pairing of Abhishek-Rani. But I think Rani's dress designer for this film should be shot...all of her clothes are so odd.

Abhi is adorable, even in weird moustache getup.

I am so sick of Amitabh. I saw him in this trailer with Akshay Kumar for Waqt and I wanted to hit him. He was in a disco!! If you thought Akshay was too old to be in a disco, you haven't seen Amitabh! I adore the man but it's hard to remember that when he is dressed in weird clothes, shades, and is breaking into disco moves!!

I last checked my flist at around midnight, I'd guess.
It really all depends on why he would be putting on fake mustaches. I mean, one of my favorite literary characters was a detective, and he had a whole collection of fake mustaches.

Well, I guess if she is supposed to be a con-artist, dorky clothes are excusable. I will put up with a lot to see Abhi-Rani together again.

Big B is in too many movies. I like him better in something like Baghban or Black or Veer-Zaara. But his "cool" act as in KHGN? makes me realyl annoyed every time.

Who is the detective?

This guy is a con-artist so it's a disguise (yet another reason why he might not be ideal b/f material)

Have you ever read The Theif Lord? He's a character from it.

Love your comments. Thanks for getting me excited for this movie. Because honestly, the pictures and the summary were scaring me off (not that I would have missed it for the world, can't resist Rani and Abhi).

Same. I've read other books by Cornelia Funke, but they just weren't as good.

I'm not 100% sure whether I'll like the premise of the movie...but we'll see. I'll definitely watch Ash's item number! :)

What cute commentary... hehe. They were actually giving away tickets to this the other night, on the Indian radio station! I didn't call though, because the theatres were too far. Crazy cooincidence though. :O
