There is always a danger with a show going on hiatus with someone like me, who changes her obsessions as often as she changes her laundry. Well, VM came back and so? What did I think?

I thought: Blah.

I loved the Weevil-Logan scene (those boys really do work well together). Woo, bathroom scene. They make a better couple than V and Logan. Also loved the Logan-Dick scene. Dick might be dumb but loyal and he was hilarious in an earlier scene with Veronica as well.

Logan and Veronica in the elevator in the opening scene? Snark. And more chemistry in that one scene than Duncan and Veronica had in all their scenes together ever.

I was spoiled for this ep, but I think on reflection, I should have known something was up even if I didn't when Veronica confronted Duncan and fought with him. She never does it, she always backs down. And of course her Jen-like "Meg, Meg, Meg" was also out of character.

I did love the Keith busted her.

What I want to know is what did Duncan do to merit such loyalty, what committing federal offense (though she is nowhere near as good as Logan was in the line-up :P), lying to those closest to her (her father and Wallace. And then she gets all mighty with Wallace not telling her about hit and run. Idiot). Whyyyyy? Of course the fact that she has never done 1/100 of this for Logan is mightily annoying, but it's the fact that she would do all this for anyone is insane, let alone Duncan. Because, don't even start me on the absurdity of the biological father having to go on the run because the grandparents who want to give the kid away for adoption are contesting. There is no way in hell any court would rule against Duncan. Ugh.

Oh, and Duncan kisses Veronica and tells her he loves her with less passion than I eat my oameal. And of course their chemistry is still brilliantly non-existent. Guuuh, Duncan-related suck is annoying. Though he was cute with the baby at the end, I do wonder what kind of future the kid will have? What money does he have? Hmmmm. I foresee a flophouse future for the kid.

So, some of it quite good (the non-Duncan related parts), some making no sense, but in the final analysis, woo-hoo, ding-dong, the wicked witch is dead. Or at least Duncan is off my show. And the ending was rather not bad.

Still, BSG is definitely winning my No. 1 spot of the shows I am currently watching. Heck, even MARS, which is not obviously as sharply written or overall as good, is more character consistent and consistent within its genre.

Hmmmm. While better than OAV, I really do think VM lost some spark. Hopefully with the exit of Duncan and the stupid baby storyline and all that, it will get it back. Because I am rapidly losing interest.
