Lamb wins, no surprise. After all, the show has to maintain Keith as an outsider. It was good to see that Veronica's desire to release the tape was motivated not just by her wish to see Keith win, but by her desire to get to the bottom of the bus crash as she is right: Keith would be a betterperson than Lamb to get to the bottom of it all.

Dick-Gia? For some reason I could buy that. If they have to spend time on some female non-Veronica character, I'd rather it was Gia and not Jackie. Gia amuses me.

Loved Logan being arrested, and his theatricality and bravado during it: he really does use it as a shield. This is the same at the line-up.He always covers his insecurity with snark. And once again, best quote of the ep is Logan's: his Olsen twin line, but what really caught me was the look on Veronica's face. It's frozen horror (I think she is relieving the night Logan got arrested last) and there is vulnerability there too. Wow. Yes, sucks to be you, Logan, but maybe it will bring V & L closer. I also love that she just got there and had no time to interact with him, because boy that would have been...odd. Duncan, late as usual, just in time to see Logan led out? Well, at least it was a memorable party.

Logan-Dick reconciliation (and we find out about the Casablancas). I am not surprised Dick doesn't care one bit (it seems he would have been happy to "exploit" Kendall himself. My, they are a close family) and you can see Logan's awkwardness and embarassment and total loss at what to say (I love that here he is actually quiet and not theatrical at all) and Logan is relieved but still a bit freaked that Dick doesn't care. Also, I noticed the different reaction when Duncan makes up with him in BFTP and when Dick "makes up" here. Duncan is BFF, Dick a guy to hang out with.

Love, love, love the scene with Cliff and Logan. Cliff being rather impatient with Logan's act but nice and snarky and competent. And I loved that Logan is so gently amused at Cliff's Veronica-related call. But the best part? You can see the lost little boy peek through, as it does sometimes and it just breaks my heart in a good way.

I knew Aaron and Logan were going to be sharing a cell, but now I know why. Because Lamb is a bastard and transferred Aaron on purpose. I guess Logan really did get under his skin with his attitude in LITB. And he does get what he wanted: the moment Logan sees Aaron is...the look on Logan's face, all defenses and mannerisms are gone in a second and his face looks naked with emotion. When they cut to commertial, I screamed.

And then we get back to the Logan-Aaron scene, so painful. Logan is so stripped of all his defenses for this, and I love how the bitterness and the hurt re: Lilly and Veronica is just choking him. He's so hurt but he doesn't even want to talk about it. Because oh boy, that had to do a number on his head, and seeing Aaron brings it all back up. So now I see why he asked for a Public Defender: he doesn't want Aaron's lawyers because he doesn't want to identify with him. Aaron blaming Duncan, big surprise. And I bet he is convinced of it in his head too. Aaron is good at self-deception. But he did have good advice for Logan not to throw his life away. Hope Logan takes it.

I must admit I want to believe Aaron even now because it would be good for Logan if Aaron was not a complete monster. I mean, how sad it that that when Cliff helps him to get bail, Logan is shocked that someone would help.

Weevil burned down Logan's house, while is Lamb being evil snarky bastard. The look on Logan's face? This guy needs so much therapy it could eat up his trust fund! I must admit I am experiencing Weevil hate: I mean Felix was kicking an innocent guy to deah even if Weevil believes Logan did stab the guy. Really. Of course, this leads to Logan buying Weevil's grandma's house and kicking everybody in it out. The war is heating up and I am kinda worried where all of this will end up. Also, ankle monitor? Ouch.

Veronica accidentally hugging Logan? Heee. *squeal* And now Logan is living with Duncan? He couldn't afford his own room? :) Not that I care because I can see heaps of excitingly awkward situations arise. Threesomes, here we come. :P It could really help to compare and contrast.

On the Keith front, he finds out about the hand thing and justifiably freaks, but what I loved was Veronica admitting she is researching the murder (so I guess she is trying to sublimate it and be as normal as she can or she'll go insane). Also, loved his confrontation with Aaron. Why is a rat nailed to a seat? Hmmm....

On the mystery of the week front: it was unusually strong and it broke my heart, that scene with Abel and Veronica at the end, where he just wants Amelia to be happy, and he doesn't know Amelia is dead, killed for the money he gave up his life for. Of course, this goes with the overarching theme of VM that money corrupts and makes miserable. But I am so full of Clarence love now. He's hot and effective and...yum.

I was also amused by Joss's cameo.

Preview? Looked OK, but a bit "very special episode" to me.

The thing we tend to forget is: Weevil is the leader of a bike gang. He's not a nice guy, at all. We know that. Yeah, he can be a good guy, and I love him, but he's not nice.

Great ep!!

I :heart: Cliff. He rocks the house. "He'll say that it's to diffuse community tension, but really it's because he's mean."

You totally nailed Logan's reactions in this ep. He does use his bravado to hide his insecurities and fear, and you could also see in this ep how clearly he got that tendency from Aaron. Aaron did the same thing with Keith.

His face broke my heart when he saw Aaron in the cell.

Man, poor Amelia. It was a great MOTW, because of the history that we knew behind it. I'm not sure I get why Veronica trusted Clarence so readily when he popped into the room right after she found Amelia's body. With his history, I'd be trying to get the hell away from him. When she called him later about the boyfriend, was she hoping that Clarence would get the revenge against him that the legal system couldn't because the boyfriend was a diplomat's son?

I don't get why Logan would be staying with Duncan, either. Surely he could afford his own suite. I totally knew it was Logan when Veronica plopped down on him, though.

So we're supposed to believe that Logan and Dick hadn't seen each other since Big Dick skipped town? Not even around school? That's silly.

Gotta be that Logan put it there to bother Duncan and Veronica, hence the smell that caused Dick to order the limo.

I think she knew Clarence wouldn't kill her because if you think about it, he did a lot of amoral things last year, but none of it would indicate he was a killer. The fact that he'd be looking for extortion-girl isn't hard to believe. Yeah, I got the feelng diplomat's son is toast.

Logan with Duncan. Someone else on another thread pointed out that Logan is likely lonely so why not move in with best friend?

Well, the rat was clearly not meant to be seen by the kids on the bus. Who looks under a seat? And it was also the stinky thing that got Dick's attention.

While calling someone a rat (or stool pigeon) is a nice connection, I think it is a false lead.

I imagine that it is related to whatever caused the explosion on the bus, but what role a rat would play seems unclear to me.

I also doubt that it was meant to be discovered by some party after the crash as it would point to a problem with the whole "accident" theory.

I am trying to come up with some sort of way in which the rat's body is used to delay the explosion. It was delayed and nothing points to remote detonation.

Another thought:
Clarence is still doing dirty work for the Kanes. Do you think he is making his own decisions or is Daddy Kane still pulling the strings? They were paying off Amelia Delongpre months after the obstruction charges were leveled. And are they in on what looks like the murder of her murderous boyfriend?

What else might they be involved in?

Also I am a little disturbed by the potential implications of Veronica's decision that a kind lie is better than the truth in the end. She does it for good reason, but I think thematically it might come back and kick her in the ass.

What I want to know about Clarence is why he is so incredibly loyal to the Kanes.

I agree with Veronica's decision because that's what I would have done in the end but I don't know if it's problematic: it was a very specific case.

Just thought about something: when Logan asked Lamb about conjugal visits asnd Lamb snarked back that he should ask his cellmate, my mind went...interesting places. Luckily it didn't go where I thought it would.

This episode was DARK. We're going at breakneck pace here. Loved it. Especially the Logan and Aaron scene, that was amazing.

I didn't get how Logan got a hold of Weevil's house. I know Weevil's grandma used to work for the Echolls but how did he just buy the house?

I was also confused with how Amelia ended up in the ice chest. I guess we're supposed to think the boyfriend killed her (although he didn't really look capable IMO, or have much motive) and then Clarence found her body and dumped it in the chest? He does have experience with icing down bodies.

I have to go rewatch now because I spent a great deal of the episode yelling at the TV, so I'm sure I missed how this all fit together. :P

I am guessing that the Navarro family rents their house rather than owns it, house prices being what they are in California.

Logan probably bought the place from the owner for more than it was actually worth because vengeance is more valuable to him than money (he has a lot of money). As the new owner of the place, he is within his rights to give the renters 30-days notice.

Amelia was killed and iced by the b-friend who collected the $250,000 she had just blackmailed the Kane's for as well as any of the original 3 million remaining. The motive was money and not having to depend on Amelia's generosity with it.

I think it is implied that Wiedman didn't know about the body until Veronica found it (unless he is trying to fool her, he asked if the body was Amelia's).

What I find even more interesting is it seems that Wiedman is going to kill the evil boyfriend. Not to avenge Amelia (he couldn't care less about her), but to cover-up the Kane cover-up.

Note that the first question he asks the red herring boyfriend is NOT whether he killed Amelia, but whether he conspired with her to get money from the Kane's.

If Wiedman is indeed working for Duncan's family in this, they have more blood on their hands and more lies to cover-up.

Agree: while Wiedman no doubt feels bad that Amelia got killed (he doesn't strike me as a complete unfeeling monster), he is killing the guy mainly to protect the Kanes. Seriously, what DID Jake do to win such loyalty from our Clarence?

Re: Weevil's house. I don't know CA's law specifically, but agree: depending on the kind of lease she has (if Mrs. Navarro is renting) Logan can kick the family out with proper notice and time limit. I might feel bad for Grandma (though hey, whatever the cleaning stuff at Logan's, they are also now out of work), but really, what else did Weevil expect? For Logan to take arson lying down?

The scary thing is, I can see that scenario in a bad fanfic, though VM isn't going to go there because Logan isn't going to end up in jail (of course, if he did, he'd be toast in 5 minutes).
