Science Fiction Kisses

Because I am having a really long, hard day, here is pic spam to cheer me up. I love me some scifi/fantasy romance. That way there is not just sexy fighting, but also sexy angst. So, profiling my four fave scifi/fantasy couples of all time: Anakin/Padme from SW (too gloriously messed-up for words), Aragorn/Arwen (just perfect angst), Eowyn/Faramir (my book ship) and John Crichton/Aeryn Sun from Farscape (one OTP to rule them all).

Eowyn/Faramir OTP. I wish they'd elaborate more on that in the movie, because they could have fit it in if they were able to fit in the excessive Aragorn/Arwen.

I am glad we got what little F/E we did, but yeah, I wish there was more...

Don't get me wrong, I love A/A. Just not at the expense of other ships.
I was actually fairly annoyed that there was so much, because in the books there didn't seem to be any romance. Then I read the appendixes, in which there was the entire story told in the movies.
You know what else there is way too little of? Merry/Pippin.

Really, really, really, distant. When I ship people, I tend to discount gender, species, family relation, and anything that actually has to do with couples in real life. (Not in real life, just movies).

*melts and sighs* I love the meadow picture of Anakin and Padme. That never happens in the film, but goodness, it's pretty. So are they.

Aragorn and Arwen. Angst that ends in bliss. Liv and Viggo are gorgeous together as well. I still love the, "I would rather share one lifetime with you than face all the ages of this world alone" line. *smiles* Oh, and I'm so glad someone finally remembered Eowyn and Faramir! That's the only thing I feel cheated about in ROTK - I wish Peter had filmed the Faramir/Eowyn kiss atop the wall in the sunlight. Ah, how I <3 LOTR... I tend to state the obvious. ;)

Good choices, especially the first and last pairs. :) If there's any pair out there I adore almost as much as P/A for sheer drama and angst, it's J/A. That, and they probably have the most sizzling on-screen chemistry I've ever seen. P/A... goodness, I just love 'em all around. They're so pretty, tragic, and have some of the most beautiful kisses ever. (That last one never fails to make me sigh.)

Yup. I am reading the novelization now, and the sheer doomedness of it al is breaking my heart.

LOL. I didn't notice it the first several viewings either, until someone pointed it out to me - and now they stand out at me every time I see the scene. ;) You see her eyes flick up and down his body at least three times (the first time being when she's first walking out there), and you can tell she's hardly paying attention to a word he says - she's practically breathless when she agrees to go with him. I love it. *g*
