One of these pics (the last) is pretty spoilery. The rest, not really. I separated the last one from the rest.

Enjoy the cuteness while it lasts!

Don't worry, Padme. I won't let him grow a beard."

Hee. I love that look. Though more looks like this and she'll have a dozen instead of twins:

Poor Mr. & Mrs. Jedi, you think you are angsting now?

Since I know where in the movie this comes in, I am making no cracks:

They're cute (although Nats reminds me of Kerri Russel in the "look" picture!)...Yes, I still know I'm going to cry at this movie.

I think she need not tease the Dark Lord with her slinky nightie and pearls. I don't think he needs much of an excuse to drag her back into the apartment.

Poor Obi Wan. I'm sure he would have been on their side if he knew what had transpired. Sure, he would have disapproved, but he would have stood up for Anakin too, something I don't know if Anakin realized.

I'm sure he would have been on their side if he knew what had transpired. I agree. It's sad that Anakin didn't have enough faith, in himself as a Jedi, in Padme as his wife, or in Obi-Wan as his mentor.

Maybe he is just admiring the City view? Hmmm, I don't think so either. I really hope the SW world has some kind of protection, otherwise Padme might be better off dead, as she would have had a dozen kids in 10 years.

So true, and one of the many tragedies of RotS. I don't think Anakin ever does realize that. Ever. And of course Obi-Wan must blame himself. For Padme's death, for Anakin's turn to the Dark Side, even indirectly for fall of the Republic. I said elsewhere that I would not want to be in Anakin's head at the end of SWIII, but Obi-Wan's head must not be too much cheerier. To have your son/brother/protege turn into a Sith and destroy the Republic, himself, and all the he holds most dear must have been hard on Obi-Wan.

But boy did he pay for that. And paid, and paid, and paid.

I agree. That too me is the tragedy of it all. He rejects the very people who have his best interest at heart and who love him enough to support him (Padme) and stop him (Obi Wan). These two people would do anything for him, and he turns on them; so confused he can't tell the difference between people who will treat him as a pawn and people who really care about him.

Probably so. I have curly hair, though, so I shouldn't talk. ;)

That is the ultimate tragedy of the story. He can't see how much the people closest to him love him, and he follows someone whose only interest is using him as the means to the (very nasty) end.

Obi-Wan must blame himself I'm sure he does. I mean, for twenty years he lives completely isolated on Tatooine, forsaking any kind of a life. I don't know how he manages to keep his sanity out there after everything that happens.

Anakin always seems to look at Obi Wan as a disciplinarian and someone who holds him back (he's actually holding him back from hurting himself, but Anakin never gets that), and even though there is a great friendship, I don't think he thinks Obi Wan will support him, which is sad because Obi Wan proves that out of everyone he understands what's going on and tries to protect Anakin.

And he doesn't stop, that's the heartbreaking part. Obi Wan tries to protect Padme for Anakin, and when he can't do that, he protects Luke and Leia and continues to protect Luke until he proves that he can handle himself for the most part and has friends who can look after him. Obi Wan even goes so far as to look after Luke even after he's dead, and I think it's all in an effort to follow through for Anakin and perhaps save Anakin, even then.

Of course. And even though he starts out with ostensibly good motives (protecting those he loves), and "using" the Sith only as a means to a positive goal, he (of course) ends up so messed up and twisted that at the end he sides with the Sith against those he loves and for whom (at least in part) he became Sith in the first place. The road to hell is paved with good intentions, indeed.

And I think his marriage to Padme is connected to this in more ways than one. The fact that he had to keep such a big secret for all these years did isolate him from Obi-Wan and the Jedi even more.

That's a brilliant observation and I never thought of it that way. And I think some care for Luke is also out of guilt. I am sure he thinks if he didn't screw up somewhere, Anakin wouldn't have become Sith.

Anakin always seems to look at Obi Wan as a disciplinarian and someone who holds him back (he's actually holding him back from hurting himself, but Anakin never gets that)

And that is where the problem of their very differing personalities and tempreraments comes in. Sigh...

Well, you can see the shadow of those good motives in AOTC after he kills the Sand People. He wants to save his mother, stop her from dying...and he can't. I have a feeling that turns into an obsession regarding Padme, and then he gets deluded into thinking the she and the Jedi have all turned against him. His marriage is definitely a factor because a secret like that would, for lack of a better phrase, "destroy {their} lives." If the Jedi hadn't been so damnably strict, and he could have told them, things would have turned out differently. Instead, they deny him the rank of master and let him fall right into the folds of the Dark Side. Anakin needed love more than anything, but every love he had was destroyed or undermined, and in the end, I think all of that shatters him. It's so sad. :/ But, if it wasn't, I guess we wouldn't have a story.

And it's got to kill Obi Wan to watch Anakin self destruct. This is a kid he halfway raised, who he cared about and who he was close friends with and he just implodes in front of Obi Wan in the most violent and destructive way possible.

So true that I am nodding and don't have much to say.

If the Jedis weren't so unbending. If Anakin told Obi-Wan about the marriage. If his Mother didn't die in his arms leading to his obsession. If Palpatine wasn't there to take advantage of it all. If, if, if...*sad*

Hee. When my Mother was pregnant with me, people just thought she was slightly fat (she got very annoyed because no one would give up their seat for her as they couldn't tell she was pregnant). So I am going to give them a pass on the watermelon (surely, it at least merits that fruit), especially since we don't know the month of her pregancy...

I went into maternity clothes at 3 weeks. By the 9th month, I was visiting Omar the Tentmaker.

Haven't been pregnant yet, but whenever I get pregnant, I hope to follow my Mom's genetics as I am short and therefore will look like a giant beachball otherwise.

The last "if" is the biggest one. Palpatine. I depise his character so much. A friend of mine (who shares my love of HP and LOTR, but is out of the loop regarding SW) once asked me if I thought Voldemort or Sauron was worse and I replied that Palpatine was. She looked at me very confused...But I think the reason why I dislike him so much is because he manipulates (and ruins) the hero, the character that starts out as innocent and good. Sauron doesn't manage to bend any of the Fellowship to his will, no matter how he tries, and Voldy's followers are evil when they hook up with him. Palpatine takes light and twists it into shadow. Also, he's been a part of my conciousness for a lot longer. *sigh* Again, poor Ani.

Oh yeah. Palpatine is a complete corruptor of innocence. He takes some of the best qualities of people and twists them: Jar Jar's innocence to give him extraordinary power, Padme's love of her people to have her get Valorum replaced, Anakin's love and protectiveness of his wife to turn him to the Sith...

Ugh.

You know, looking at the bottom picture again... how hot is that? Obi all dirty and just... mentally and physically exahusted, yet still able to give so much warmth to Padme? *wibble* I'm going to cry watching this movie.
