I am sitting at the computer after 2am and all of a sudden I am struck by the most obvious, ridiculous, happy Veronica Mars thought ever.

You know how I've been getting frustrated with Veronica's insistence on Duncan and a bazillion other obstacles to Veronica/Logan? Duh. I really shouldn't be annoyed at that because it's painfully clear that TPTB see Veronica/Logan as the IT couple for this show, so notwithstanding Duncan, Veronica's normalcy urges, or whatever other obstacles RT & Co. are going to throw in the path of my snarky OTP, Veronica and Logan are going to end up together anyway and the rest are just the usual tiresome contrivances used in TV land to keep apart the couple everyone knows will end up together. So, even if we discover in 2.11 that Veronica and Logan can't be together because he is actually an alien from Planet Zorg who is destined to free his people and Veronica decides to join the Nunnery out of newfound religious zeal, we all know that this will be only to prolong the suspence and it will end with the two kissing. And I can't wait to see the kissing.

Plus, it's not as if V has any other alternatives. After all, Robot Boy is bound to rust :P

Yeah, I know it's completely obvious, the V/L thing, but I am amazingly dim. Plus, I've just been rewatching The Kiss from WoCD a few times because can't sleep and...goo. Amazing goo.

I am sorry to put such blatant spoilers out there. But at least I didn't mention the part where Logan wrestles Principal Clemmons for the Death Ray. Oops :P

I guess also, after watching Smallville, where the only ship even of remote interest to me has a snowball's chance in hell ever happening, made me happy to count my blessings to have a major OTP that is actually an OTP for TPTB as well so is bound to end up together no matter the sturm and drang in between.

And he suffers so prettily.

In fact, he suffers so well, I almost can't watch it. The scene with the tapes in One Angry Veronica (have you seen it yet), as well as the scene at the end of M.A.D. where he is alone on the boat or the scene with the belts in RotK? I almost can't watch. Too painful.

Well put! *and she's off to watch again and gain the Veronica/Logan kiss from WoCD* Why do my OTPs always have to suffer so much?? *snuggles her multiple otps poignantly*... Arg! It remind me how John and Aeryn broke my heart yesterday when I was rewatching Terra Firma, poor Aeryn feeling so alienated and alone in Earth *sobs*!!!

No doubt had ever crossed my mind that Veronica would end up with Logan.
Guess what? I'm so excited, this is physically hard to type. Okay, so I was talking to a friend of mine that lives in Michigan, and we were talking about something random, when she started a conversation with "I'm not sure if you'll care about this, but", and she went on to tell me that her dad is friends with Kristin Bell's dad, and that Kristin Bell went to her school (My friend is Catholic). Anyway, my friend said she could arrange for me to a) get Kristin Bell's autograph, or b) MEET KRISTIN BELL.
Eeeeee!!! (I informed her that I did, in fact, care greatly).
Just thought you should know...

Tee-hee and "word" to everything above.

I read a really interesting comment on TWOP about Veronica's increasingly blonde blind loyalty to Duncan as typical of a child of an alcoholic. "Excessive loyalty" is apparently very common among children of alcoholics but, for me, that raises the question of how long Lianne's drinking had been a problem. Anyway, it was one of those "ding"-lightbulb comments that makes everything Veronica's done since she got back together with Duncan make sense and in-character. The good news is that even Veronica has her breaking point. She threw her mom out, let's hope she throws Doughnut out soon, too.

And then she can come riding to our endangered woobie's rescue.

Oh, I love Terra Firma. Definitely on my Top 10. The funny thing is, I am more on John's side of their "split" because she did put him through hell though she had valid reasons but I still hurt for her.

At least nothing in VL is likely to get to the JA levels of angst.

Ohhhh, that's really cool for you. I am actually excited FOR you! When that happens, you should definitely post about it!

Oh, that's really interesting about the alcoholic thing. Veronica does seem to have a very dysfuctional pattern for dealing: she will take tons of stuff she doesn't like and then, all of a sudden, she will reach the breaking point and snap!

It happened with Lianne. It happened (alas!) with Logan over the summer. We got the sense from her break-up speech that he's been doing a lot of stuff she didn't like but she never brought it up and just put up with it and thought it would go away. And then she reached the point of enough. It's a left-over of her days with Lianne, which is a pity, because if she told Logan about her problems with his recklessness earlier I am sure he would have stopped if faced with the choice of stopping vendetta or losing her.

Please, please God let her be fed up with Donut soon. My eyes, they burn.

I hope so! I like agnsty Logan a lot but snarky Logan is THE BEST! And I really like the dynamic betwee Veronica and Logan so much... I can't wait to see them kissing again!!!!!!! *insert here some overenthusiastic teenager wail*

I understand both John and Aeryn... and I feel for them both because they are sooooo in looooveeeeeeee and during season 4 the JA angst levels just skyrocketted!! Too much to bear... and being the emo queen I can be sometimes I cry my frelling eyes out seen those two suffering!!! And then again, I watch again the episodes, and again... LOLZ And now I have my Lee/Kara in bsg, which I sense its going to be even more angsty in the new episodes... I'm glad that I love THE ANGST because otherwhise I wouldn't be able to enjoy this shows so much!

My eyes, they burn.

Mine burn worse.

Okay, maybe not.

I've always thought that the real reason Veronica broke up with Logan was because he told her that he was in love with her, rather than the vandalism. I think that's also in keeping with the Child of Alcoholic thing: excessive loyalty but at the same time, she's slow to trust and seriously paranoid about being burned again. I think Logan was just too much a risky emotional investment for Veronica, so she cut him loose.

It wasn't necessarily the wrong thing to do on Veronica's part but leaping back together with Duncan definitely struck me as she was making the safe choice rather with her head rather than her heart. Let's face it, the only relationship Logan should be in right now is with a therapist but, fucked up as he is, Logan is also a bit more emotionally mature than Veronica and he's got her dead to rights when he says it would so much better if she really were indifferent to him. Hee.

You are right. The love declaration was what spooked her, though Logan's acting out provided the conscious and convenient excuse. Because even in S1 she was all about "this is purely physical, hormonal" while Logan was about emotions (makes me think of John and Aeryn) because it made it easier for her to deal with. Sort of "he's hot I am a teenager that's it" thing. Because if it's just sex, she can't get hurt when it falls apart. But she does feel things for Logan and that freaks her out, and his confession of love I think makes her reevaluate things and she bolts. Duncan can't hurt her. He can make her angry or annoyed but ultimately she doesn't feel enough for him to be wounded. But with Logan? Another ballgame.

Yeah, K/L angst, woo-hoo baby! The funny thing is, I am a bit emotionally detached from BSG despite loving it so much, so I can actually wallow in the angst more :D

Exactly. The thing with Duncan and Meg will hurt Veronica's pride but I don't think her heart is too involved. Veronica's feelings for Duncan are so tied up with Lilly and Lilly's death that she'll never feel neutrally about him but she's not in love. But Logan represents moving forward and Veronica's not there yet. Mo Ryan in the Chicago Tribune wrote a brilliant synopsis of Veronica Mars over the weekend, writing that "at heart, Veronica Mars is about a girl who lost her best friend and her mother in the same short span of time and may never get over either." I thought that was probably the best description of VM I've ever read and it perfectly sums up why Veronica clings to Duncan. But eventually, we all have to let go of our security blanket.
