[livejournal.com profile] queenofthorns's posts on Alias are making me want to check it out.

Also, some BSG S3 spoilers are out and Apparently Dualla dies early on. My view? Ho-hum, yawn, whatever. She was likely not long for this world after she became Apollo's main squeeze (hasn't that girl seen any action movies? Stay away from the angsty hero. Or heroine, so someone should send a memo to Anders).

I am not particularly fussed one way or another. She has always been a secondary character, someone I found OK but with no active interest. I was more interested in her in S1 before she became Apollo's exposition tool and girlfriend and really nothing more. In fact, the extremely undeveloped and cut to ribbons love story with Apollo they gave her rather sapped my interest in her completely because I just got bored with the fact that those scenes were taking place instead of something else I'd be watching (sort of like Jackie and Wallace on Veronica Mars, two nice people but I just wanted to move on to something more fraught with conflict), and with the fact that the relationship was so undeveloped relative to what it was trying to be.

So, good-bye Dualla. Unless you are a Cylon, in which case I look forward to watching you dominate the lesser species and wear slinky outfits in many many different ways.

ETA: 59 out of my 104 icons feature ships. Hmmmm.

Hear hear!!

Oh my! Jackie and Wallace bored me so much in the last VM episodes... though it didn't bothered me at all because I was too busy squeeing like a mad fangirl at the EPIC V/L moments! EEE!

I've also read the rumours about Dee dying along with the Peggy... If they are true, yay for the Lee angst! But I won't miss her much because of the poor way her character was written in the latter part of season two... And it's a pity because I like her and the fact that Lee/Dee was so poorly written/edited/whatever made me not care much about them :( So I hope that now in season three she has better material to work with in the first place. :)

As a total Alias addict since the beginning I can only say: try it, you may like it!

I neither love nor hate Dee, so I don't really care. It would be nice if she turned out to be a Cylon, though.

I am definitely going to try Alias. I do want to make sure it ends in the way I like though. Is Vaughn back from the dead, btw?

Yes. I mean, so nice, so nice SO NICE. We get it. And of course, when they sandwich the J/W sex scene right after Logan's epic speech, or put a Jackie/Wallace airport scene right after the rooftop scene and right before Logan/Veronica Pieta, they are almost insuring that we won't care. I got to be a pro at forwarding past the airport scene to the second to hit L/V.

Re: Dee. Yeah, her character really had a disservice done when they made her the gf, because that's all they made her. Basically, if you are a secondary character put in a ship with a main one, it's not so good. Oh well.

That's basically my attitude. But Cylon Dee would be nifty...

I'm ignoring the BSG spoilers, but yes, watch Alias! It takes a dive after a while, but the first two seasons are really good, despite the cheesiness and need for extreme suspension of disbelief.

I don't mind suspension of disbelief considering right now I am watching Fushigi Yuugi, which is about a 15 year old destined to be priestess in a mythical world where a lot of hotties run around with special powers :P

Aw..I like Dee. I think most of that has to do with lingering love from season 1, though, because I am all about character loyalty. Basically if I start liking a character they have to practically commit mass murder before I get tired of them. (And then sometimes I'm still 'well they're not too bad, really. Just misunderstood.')

But if both Dee and Anders die it might be a bit too much on the partner death front. Though remarkably convenient for Starbuck and Lee.

See, I have a short attention span, so a couple of episodes of badness (or lack of interest) and I lose mine :)

*hee* I concur with everything you've said here! The marvelous fast forward button is simply a must for my obsessive rewatchings!!

In fact, he never died!! ... it was all a plan concocted by SpyDaddy and Syd to protect him... and now is is totally back and hot as ever! Warning: I'm not very objective about Alias because it's a show I LOVE LOVE LOVE unreasonably!

Oh, who wants shows one can be objective about?

And YAY on L/V.

Alias was fantastic fun for 2 years, or maybe only 1 1/2 years. It gets worse after that, although I'm still watching, until the bitter end. I even gave it up this year briefly, but then decided to start again, just to see my old favorites coming back. One thing the show did particularly well was focus on some great older character actors, like Victor Garber, Ron Rifkin, Lena Olin.

I'm warning you since you say you have a short attention span. But the first season, I loved with a passion rivaling my love for VM.

queenofthorns's posts on Alias are making me want to check it out.

My advice: Don't even do it! But if you must, stop before the last two minutes of Season 2. Seriously. You'll be glad you did.
