The excellent [livejournal.com profile] m_jade8 has started a Bolly fic comm. Go check it out (and join, and write!). [livejournal.com profile] bolly_fics.

I have started watching Peach Girl live action. I have also finished it. Oh no, I didn't marathon it fiercely. I just stopped watching it, period. The guy playing the Kairi equivalent is cute, but that is the most I can say for this. No one knows how to act ("Momo" is terrible. She only has one expression, and "Touji" makes Duncan from Veronica Mars a fount of charm, and as to "Kairi," the actor can do the playboy part, but not the sweet goofball, or the troubled kid part, and the character goes from 'my anime boyfriend' to dull), and the script takes liberties that aren't well thought out, and the overall effect is to turn the frothy, romantic, satisfying fun of the anime into a leaden, dull dead weight.

Have also watched the Doctor Who ep, whose name escapes me, but the one which comes after "Dalek." (Yes, yes, I am light-years behind everyone else). I liked it. Righteously indignant Doctor is always hot (though the torture devices leave much to be desired. It's sort of torture for wimps), Rose/Doctor continues to be strong (I love Adam saying that no one could come between "you can him" and Doctor yelling at the Editor to stop torturing Rose, and at the end, Doctor ditching Adam and saying he only takes the best, adding "I've got Rose.") The idea of 500th floor was creepy. Oh, and the thing I love the most is Nine's edge. Dark and good and desperate. And leaving Adam back on earth with that implant is somewhat dark. The boy is going to end up on the dissection table. And speaking of Adam, I kept chanting 'die, die, die.' Though you can't say I am surprised: the guy working for Creepy McCreep from "Dalek" isn't going to be full of moral scruples. But not only is he greedy (you can travel the universe and you are greedy to make money), he is stupid, and that IS unforgivable. Doctor gave him the chit with the unlimited credit. If he was so into being rich, he could have lived in the time they were at, filthy rich, and I am sure more goods and things to do were available then than in Adam's own time. He is dreadfully parochial. And his not understanding of what he almost did? *sigh* Good riddance.

Number Nine is still my favourite Doctor. I must say big thanks to you because you are reminding me how good (edgy, intense ) he was. Sign. But Ten is good too. I am torn..

Totally unconnected - I have got a first disk of "Trigun" .. EEEEE!

Oooooh. Hope you like Trigun. It starts out laid-back and funny and gets arced and more intense later on.

And Nine? Sigh...

and at the end, Doctor ditching Adam and saying he only takes the best, adding "I've got Rose."

I *loved* that. Wow, Doc, way to make a girl's head swell up. Hee. And Adam was such a stupid little twerp, for all his supposed genius. I can see why Rose liked him at first, in Dalek (still one of my favorite episodes), but I think this episode taught her not to judge so quickly whether someone would be a good companion long-term.

The other thing I liked in this is when the Doctor called Adam her boyfriend, and she says, "Not anymore, he isn't." Hee. And that was early on in the episode, before the true depths of his stupidity were shown.

Yes, this girl has a very good guy-radar. Because Adam? Book smart or not is a twerp with a capital T.

It's called "The Long Game," BTW. ;)

Doctor/Rose is probably my most hardcore ship right now. :P The bit about stop torturing Rose! was love. :)

Right now Doctor Who is frustrating me a bit, though- not sure if you've noticed this, and I doubt it means anything but an inside writer's joke, but there's something about "bad wolf" at the beginning of all the eps since World War 3. There was the TARDIS graffiti, and then Bad Wolf Security team in Dalek, and then the Bad Wolf channel on this weeks...weriding me out! :P

Yeah, I noticed the Bad Wolf. What is it about?

*shrug* I've been really tempted to go spoiler-hunting on Google or Wikipedia, but I'm going to resist for now. ;)

Yeah, I found out what it was by typing it into wikipedia. I am glad it makes sense now, but it's definitely majorly spoilery.
