I liked it, though not as much as the first two.

If Rose talks to a Domestic and gets friendly, it's the kiss of doom. Run, servants, run far away!

The War really frakked the Doctor up. He is quite reckless in wanting to help the gas-people. I think he over-identifies.

I loved seeing Charles Dickens, one of my favorite novelists!

Rose and the Doctor think they are going to die. And they grab each other's hands! And he tells her he is glad he met her with that smile! And she says the same! Love.

The Cardiff jokes are hilarious. Like the worst thing about dying, according to the Doctor, is that it's going to be in Cardiff. Heeee.

And next ep, UFOs!!!!!

Apparently there was a scene Skiffy (*spit!*) cut (to make room for ads) in which the Doctor tells Rose she looks beautiful. *flail*

I just ordered the DVDs from Canada. Now if I can only survive my upcoming vacation, I'll be able to see all of the episodes as they are meant to be when I get back.

OK, that's it. I need to hunt down the execs and run them down like dogs. No.

I am ordering from Canada.

Yes. I'm sure all the R1 DVDs will be the same, but they're not coming out in the U.S. until July! Who can wait that long?

They are crazy if they expect me to wait this long. Definitely amazon.ca, then.

The wait time there is three to six weeks. I ordered from DVDboxoffice.com. It costs more there, but shipping to the U.S. is free. However, I don't know how soon it will ship from there! Either way has to be earlier than July, though.

Considering that the DW eps are all something like 50 minutes or so, there will always be stuff cut out for the U.S. broadcasts, and it's usually the lovely character bits that get lost. :( I really can't blame you at all for wanting to get the DVDs asap - besides, from what I hear it's a very nice package. Since I have all the eps, I can afford to wait until July...

You will still need to get hold of the Children in Need special and the Christmas Invasion, though.

I'm really glad you are enjoying this program!

Cardiff is to this doctor what Heathrow was to the Fifth Doctor. I seem to recall them always trying to head there or ending up there with Peter Davidson.

I liked the episode, but one of the commments, if you are a pretty side character or a domestic, start running is funny. Could be true, but funny

I had never seen this show until last night. I figured that since it had over 40 years of history, there wasn't any point to watching now.

But it's good. And I am now hooked after the Charles Dickens episode.

Children in Need special and the Christmas Invasion, though.

Are they on DVD as well? Or shall I have to obtain them by other *cough* means?

Thanks!

Well, she was nice to that plumber in the destruction of the earth ep and the plumber ended up killed. She was nice to the servant here and look what happened. Basically, if you are some sort of menial worker and she starts talking to you, get your will done.

I am hooked too. I haven't seen anything beforehand either but they seem to be good about not needing 40 (!) years of catch-up.

*cough*other means*cough* Let me know if you have trouble getting the CIN special. It's short, 5 minutes or something like that, but it's actually a rather important emotional bridge between the end of 13 & the Christmas Invasion.

::cough:: i confess to missing it, despite all the hoopla everyone else on my flist about it when they first ran in the UK and ht bittorent. but i happened to catch it last night flippig through, and dammit, i knew it would happen since billie piper is so damn adorable and i've loved her since cantebury tales, so i am overloading the poor damn tivo to pick them up for me.

never got in to the original/early series that ran when i was a kid. actually kind of hated it and was totally creeped out by tom baker. christopher eccleston is another story. . . . mmmmm, . . . . .

The War really frakked the Doctor up.

That's pretty much the entire theme of this season. He's treating Rose differently than any other Doctor has treated any other companion because of that as well. Before, they were company and pets. Now she's the only thing keeping him from going insane from the lonliness. (Not a spoiler, my interpretation.)

Yes. I watched the DVD, and she gets dressed and he says "You look beautiful. Well, considering."
And she laughs and says, "Considering what?"
"That you're human."
And she's all, I'll assume that's a compliment...
Sorry I'm replying to these now. I just started watching the show and and reading all the spoilery lj entries!

Where can you get CIN? Unscrupulous means if necessary?
I'm just watching the 2005 series, and I've realised I lack access to CIN. :(
