I apologize that ep 21 caps are a bit smaller than usual but my 720p file had badly out-of-sync sound and the thought of watching one vid while capping another was unappetizing...

I don't have a cap of it, but that image of the nanny's young granddaughter, smiling happily as she goes, unknowing, to her horrifying fate, is going to stay with me.

Kang To being beaten up by the Chief, while 'friend' Shunji doesn't even seem to care. Can somebody off Shunji already? Preferably slowly and painfully. You know, even if KT was loyal, this would turn the most loyal person against his masters...

I love this scene with Rie. I don't ship them, but they have such a fascinating dynamic - in many ways, she is the female version of Kang To, only she hasn't been redeemed yet - because she had nobody in her life to help her the way KT's family kept his humanity. But now she does have someone pulling her toward the light - KT. I am interested how her internal tug will work out. I think it's fascinating that she is the one getting a possible redemption arc and not Shunji who is totally going to drag KT off for some torture after end of ep 22 unless he decides to let him go to trail him.

I love how Shunji is genuinely shocked that Mok Dan might be mad at him - he knows he tortured and almost executed her father and he killed her mother figure (even if he didn't know she was a mother figure, he knew she was a co-worker) and it never occurred to him? It must be fun living in Shunjiland. (When KT used to be a bastard, he was never deluded about others' feelings).

I love how much comfort they give to each other in the middle of all this insanity. They are each other's one pure, uncomplicated thing in the middle of the darkness.

Only psycho notices KT living. Noooo! Can somebody kill him already, please?

Yay! Hot rebel daddy and his facial hair of disguise are back! ILY!

Gaksital kills the journalist who was helping to recruit comfort women. I don't normally root for murder, but sometimes I make an exception.

My heart nearly stopped during this scene and the tense cat-and-mouse stuff. It's terrifying how more and more secure Shunji is that KT is Gaksital.

I loved the look on the face of the taylor when he realizes KT is on their side. LOL.

I loved the scenes with KT and the leader of the rebellion. KT needs as many parental figures as he can get.

The scene with the potato - kdramas love breakdowns over food. This is bringing back to KT the memory of his family and their loss...

I just like poor conflicted Tamao.

I love that the circus members freak out KT overheard about their patriotic activities. If they only knew! And I love how well MD keeps the secret.

This was terrifying! KT held his own as long as he could, but was there any doubt...

I bet the samurai wounded him enough to make him faint (because he knows how much is enough) so Shunji could take a quiet look. OMG, you know what gets me - the look on Shunji's face when he sees it was, indeed, KT. You can tell the infintesimal human part of him was hoping it wasn't! I do think he won't drag KT off for torture now (if he planned this, he didn't need to sneak off by himself). Instead, he's going to tail him to have him lead Shunji to the rebel leaders. Oh noooooo! Worst friend ever. (Though that is not a smart plan. I'd grab Gaksital now and worry about others later - a bird in hand and all that). And now Shunji is going to be even more psycho, if such is possible (and no, justification that Shunji's brother killed KT's family isn't going to snap him out of it - for one thing he knows and it didn't stop him or even affect him, for another, it moved way past Kenji's death a long time ago). Though even if Shunji doesn't collect him, isn't KT going to wonder whether someone saw him when he was there unconscious? Mad curious...
