I've been reading about Big's ending and LOL. LOL. I am so glad I dumped this at ep 8 (and only sorry I held on s long as I did). The ragey comments at dramabeans are super-entertaining.

I've loved my share of bad dramas but this wasn't even 'bad but entertaining in its badness' (a la Dr Jin) or 'bad but hitting my shippy kinks and caring' a la Myung Wol. I adored the latter and was very entertained by the former but Big was just one big, slogging, dull mess. Still, I expected a better ending than that. Oh, Hong Sisters! I used to love you so...

Sigh, yeah.. Hong Sisters. Remember when their dramas were good?

Nothing they have written these past few years can compare to their earliest dramas. Chun-Hyang, My Girl, Hong Gil Dong (I had my problems with that one but no doubt it was far superior than most of the new ones)
Fantasy Couple, never watched it nor am I planning to. You're Beautiful, despite being cute, had major flaws. MGIAG was also cute, even angsty at points, I liked it but didn't love it.
And let's not even begin on Best Love. WTF was that.
Big seems to be the final nail in the coffin..

I didn't even make it to episode 6 of BIG. There were so many bad things about it that I jumped ship before it sank.

The saddest part is that I was looking forward to Gong Yoo's return to dramaland. What a waste of his talent.

Also, I didn't even finish the first episode of Dr. Jin. Half of my brain cells died in those minutes. But sometimes I skim through Dramabeans' recaps and it's so freakin hilarious I almost can't believe it's real.

Dr Jin transcends mere badnes and becomes so insane it is entertaining. It may be one of the worst things I've ever seen but it's hilarious.

Right now I'm on vacation and it's insanely hot outside so I have tons of time to watch dramas.

I'm currently watching:
- I Need Romance 2
- Rich Man, Poor Woman
- A Gentleman's Dignity
- Iki mo Dekinai Natsu (age gap romance... but the romance hasn't started yet)
- Beloved (aka: Dear You). About a happily married couple who's relationship is tested by old flames and homewreckers. It's kind of repetitive, not much plot.
- Hatsukoi - A married woman in her 30s with pancreatic cancer runs into her first great love... who just so happens to be the only doctor that can save her. A very quiet and emotional Jdrama. I like it very much, though some people might find it boring.
- Mou Ichido Kimi ni Propose - Only watched the first episode. It's too slow to watch weekly, so I'll marathon it once it's over.

They seem to be trying to mass-produce scripts. The interval between each of their dramas gets shorter and shorter. Before one drama is finished, they're already talking about the next one they'll release.

They're probably trying to take advantage of their growing popularity (after You're Beautiful, I guess). But they're sacrificing their dramas' quality for the sake of good timing.

Le sigh.

I've never been more happy for a drama to end even though I stopped watching at episode 4. I just really disliked everything about it.

I didnt even watch it and I still feel the rage. Because although I wasnt watching, I was faithfully reading recaps and waiting for the moment little.cute.adorable.KJ returns on screen. I'd have better luck waiting for Jesus to come back to us @_0

I think I stopped at episode five with this one. I agree that the Hong Sisters dramas just get worse and worse. It started around You're Beautiful(dragging plot, insane plot holes, lack of communication between characters, and repetitive) and went from there. Sure, MGIAG was cute, but it had major issues with the repetitiveness and Best Love was just a mess.

With this one - I'm so confused about the plot. Did the doctor (in the teens body) stay in a coma at the end? Did the teen (in the doctor's body) stay with the teacher? 'Cause that seems a little messed up.

I'm glad I'm not alone in this... Ms.Koala is still writing and loving BIG, but I couldn't see the big deal (pun not intended) about it... eps 9 and 10 are still sitting around but I can't bring myself to watch it. The first two episodes were ok, but after that it went downhill... and Dr.Jin... I couldn't even watch the first episode properly, ugh, so bad.

The drama I Do I Do, which I thought wasn't so interesting in the beginning, ended up being a good surprise. I loved it! Specially because the leading guy stopped being childish-ly stupid.. I mean, character growth! Stories that could happen to someone you know! The second leads aren't evil!

I'm also watching Bridal Mask (lurve!) and Rich Man Poor Woman (love at 1st sight! How I missed a good jdrama)...

Now waiting patiently for the olympics to end so I can watch Faith and To The Beautiful You (worth a try with this one, at least.. I love the manga, hated the jdrama, so I want to see if korea does it right)

So glad I didn't even start this. The Hong sisters used to be a hit or miss for me but now they're more of a hit-miss-miss. The only 2 dramas they wrote that I loved unreservedly are Hong Gil Dong and You're Beautiful.

On a totally different note, you need to watch episode 17 of Bridal Mask. Every week I think they couldn't have ended on a worse cliffhanger and the following week I'm proven wrong. I'm both extremely satisfied at the way it ended and tearing my hair out that we have to wait one week for the next episode. You will LOVE the ending and what it promises us for next week (hint: one of your favorite drama kinks).

Evil tempter!

Oh, I am, I am, but I am not going to be anywhere with dl capacity unilateral evening. Are there streaming links?

I don't think streaming links are up yet but you can bet that a clip of the ending will be on YouTube pretty soon. The torrents started to appear about a hour ago on Korean websites. Maybe it'll be announced on Soompi first.

I know what you mean ^^

And you're right to stay away because everybody's so excited that there are heaps of spoilers written without spoiler tags or changing the color of the font.

I Do I Do turned out to be really enjoyable. It's not an all-time great or anything, but the main couple's chemistry was WONDERFUL and I actually enjoyed watching the episodes. I didn't feel like I was slugging through them as I sometimes do.

Well, this is why I'm glad I never bothered to watch Big live, even though I utterly adore Goon Yoo. I had this horrible feeling it was going to be a train wreak. Utter shame since I do like Lee Min-jung and thought they would make a cute onscreen couple. But oh well, I'll look forward to his next drama. That's twice in a row that a Hong Sister drama did not live up to the promise of its casting. Speaking of which, call me crazy, but I can't shake the idea that if Goon Yoo was going to be cast in a Hong Sister drama, it should have been Best Love instead of Cha Seung-won. I think he would have been able to make Dokko Jin believable.

Yeah, their earlier dramas were good but post-HGD, it's as if a switch has flipped and not in a good way.
