but hey, the reasons i'm seeing hashed out by supporters of this are getting better (no sarcasm at all)-- it's mainly a choice of words... the phone being key because of "connection"? or "memories"? or "conduit" of sincere love and desire for his well-being?... now that last one (used by you) makes such a difference-- it's much more... powerful/relevant?... and i think in the same way... writer-nim could have paced the story-telling a bit differently either before ep 16 or within it to flesh out that possibility before dropping it on us. but of course... by ep 16, she was running out of time to show her tale =P
