I am back in the land of the living...

I am beginning to recover from an awful awful stomach bug I picked up somewhere. Eating is still not an activity I want to engage in, but tea tastes nice. Mr. Mousie has been an angel - taking care of Baby Mousie, making me toast (which I can't eat yet. Advice - worst way to lose a few pounds, ever, is to get a stomach bug) and tea.

Luckily for my "I have barely gotten out of bed all day" self, I have Shut Up: Flower Boy Band waiting to entertain me. All about high school wannabe rockers, this is one drama that is ridiculously entertaining, has attitude, and makes me think of a Boy Love manga, only minus the BL as it is a Korean drama (there is a heroine in this, and she's OK, but honestly, they might as well saved themselves the trouble). Have a MV:

Lee Min Ki cameos in this and, I swear, the man has a portrait in the attic somewhere. He got me to thinking who else I'd cast in my own rocker drama. I came up with:

and

Too bad No Win Woo is prepping for Full House 2 instead (have you seen that horrifying hair he's sporting for it?) and Kim Jae Wook is doing his military service.

Also, What's Up has almost finished its run and I can't wait to binge (I put it aside ages ago, because I thought it would be better watched in one go). If Shut Up is Dream High's older brother, who raided their Mom's make-up cabinet to sneak out to raves, What's Up is if Dream High and Glee had a kid, and then that kid cut off all his hair and went in for breaking and entering.

Seeing as the heroine was cast almost as an afterthought, I see where you're coming from :D

Off-topic, but do you know what happened to AM-A? No one seems to be able to access it.

[identity profile] dangermousie.livejournal.com 2012-02-05 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
AM-A shut down as of February 1.

[identity profile] clairiere.livejournal.com 2012-02-05 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
Oh I'm sorry to hear you've been ill. Not a stomach bug, but I had a bad headache earlier in the week and couldn't keep food down, not even soup. Must be pretty bad if you can't even nibble on toast.

Lee Min Ki cameos in this and, I swear, the man has a portrait in the attic somewhere.

He isn't that old, is he? Most of the 20-something k-drama actors these days could pass for high schoolers.

These flower shows aren't really my thing (saw misterX refer to Moon/Sun as the Flower variation on sageuk) but I saw clips of his cameo on DCgall and he's excellent. Another actor who needs to lead his own k-drama soon.

[identity profile] dangermousie.livejournal.com 2012-02-05 05:34 am (UTC)(link)
He's 27, which is kinda old to be a high schooler.

Shut Up is at least entertaining. Ramyun and Moon/Sun are less fun than doing the dishes. Moon/Sun must be the most simplistic sageuk in history.

Hope you feel better!

Are you watching Flower Boy Band raw or with subs? I know WITHS2 is supposed to be subbing it ... I guess I should wait.

The guy who was the younger brother in Lie To Me seems PERFECT for a band. I wonder if he can sing?

[identity profile] dangermousie.livejournal.com 2012-02-05 05:33 am (UTC)(link)
You can find subs and raws on soompi, but I am streaming it at dramafever

[identity profile] thinking-lotus.livejournal.com 2012-02-05 09:31 pm (UTC)(link)
I tried dramafever but the stream always gets stuck or skips around :-( it can get really frustrating to have to reload and then sit through more ads.

I found a link to softsubs in the dramabeans comments via soompi though!

Gosh, just finished Ep 18 of What's Up... Such a glorious drama!

It will be fun to catch up

[identity profile] mookiehyun.livejournal.com 2012-02-05 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
*HUG*, glad u r feeling better! I'm also going to binge on WU soon, that depends on how much better WR will get, I'm not feeling WR1

[identity profile] dangermousie.livejournal.com 2012-02-05 05:30 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks!

I stayed away from WR due to promos and the hair :)

Argh adfkahf I wish that Lee Min Ki was in the entire series and not just a cameo. I've mostly been reading the recaps but he seems to have the most charisma and screen presence from the clips that I've watched. On the other hand, the other cast members seem adorable. I hope that the drama stays on the gritty side with a side of fluff.

[identity profile] dangermousie.livejournal.com 2012-02-06 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I love the vibe and hope they keep it. It feels oddly real.

[identity profile] spunspider.livejournal.com 2012-02-05 12:34 pm (UTC)(link)
minwoo and jaewook + lee minki? i would DIE. i haven't started this, i've been distracted by waking love up (which i love stupidly) but jfkjasffjjfsh how great would it be if lee minki was in the whole thing? it's cruel to finally give him back to dramaland only to snatch him away again.

[identity profile] dangermousie.livejournal.com 2012-02-06 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
I know, so mean!

"What's Up is if Dream High and Glee had a kid, and then that kid cut off all his hair and went in for breaking and entering."

I've never seen Glee, but What's Up is just about my favorite thing right now. The waiting is hard, so watching it all at once sounds like a good idea.

[identity profile] dangermousie.livejournal.com 2012-02-06 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
I can't wait until it's all done and I can binge.

[identity profile] sisterjune.livejournal.com 2012-02-05 05:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah the heroine seems like she was an afterthought really considering how long it took to cast her and how she is not all that developed or interesting. but eh. i still like it.

oh god if they put kim jae wook in eyeliner, and put a guitar in his head (esp if they had him grow out his hair) i would probably pass out or something. he's already absurdly pretty. ugh such a loss that he's in military service now. and Rain too ;_; raiiiiiiin.

[identity profile] dangermousie.livejournal.com 2012-02-06 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
Yup, I like the heroine OK, but honestly (and I never slash), they should have just gone for bl here. I am in it for the drummer, anyway :P

[identity profile] boycottbananas.livejournal.com 2012-02-05 06:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I would totally watch a rocker drama with Kim Jae Wook and No Min Woo in it, ngl.

Lee Min Ki, No Min Woo and Kim Jae Wook in a rocker drama....OH HELL YEAH!!!!...why hasn't korea thought of this before?!!...I want it so bad...even a movie would suffice

[identity profile] dangermousie.livejournal.com 2012-02-06 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
I know! I need!

(Anonymous) 2012-02-06 03:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Mousie family ! Here is Cattie family saying "Hi" to you !
I like your idea of NMW and KJW in a drama together !

PS: Sorry offtopic but do you, like me, think that if NO MIN WOO was not as skinny -still he has put on some weight since he shed his rocker image- he would have a little big behind ? I am telling you that because, while I was watching MGIAG, I noticed that when I viewed him from the side his butt sticked out a little, what is very rare among korean males.

[identity profile] dangermousie.livejournal.com 2012-02-07 01:10 am (UTC)(link)
No idea, sorry :)

I think it would be a fun drama
