I don't even hate Hwa Young any more because she's too insane to hate. Hiring Dal to break up Jae Hee and Bong Sun is beyond evil. Does she really think JH would forgive her when he inevitably finds out? Also, that's just sick because not only would it deprive Bong Sun of romantic love, it would end up the sisterly relationship too. She's one sick puppy.

Anyway, why would I want to waste time on her when we have both angst and sweetness extraordinaire with our OTP?

From angst (oh my, YSY is even more gorgeous when he angsts).

To cuteness. Cuteness beyond words.

I love how straightforward and unwavering JH is (one thing I loathe is a hero who can't make up his mind as to whom he loves), but I actually understand Bong Sun's resistance - it's not that he lied about who he really is (though that does trigger her distrust), but that their current positions are so different - he is rich and with a lot of options and I think she doesn't have enough self-worth to think a millionaire might want her, even if she's willing to believe that a penniless parking attendant does.

I always love it the rare instances sageuks address class. Very few do, actually, which may be realistic in one sense (characters are just used to this being how things are) but from any modern standpoint, this is the big elephant in the room in any story set in a rigidly hierarchical society where you have no power without someone else having more power and that disparity might mean your instant death and where people can own other people. Chuno deals with it. Hong Gil Dong deals with it. The Princess' Man deals with it a little. And I love that Tree with Deep Roots addresses it.

In which I meta and cap a great deal )

In other news, Jang Hyuk can still make me sniffle with just one look:
