I was going to hold out for subs, but viki is freezing on me and I am working and travelling all day tomorrow so no getting to a subbed version until Saturday. No way was I going to hold out that long. So I watched the raw. I'll probably do a proper liveblog once I get the subs, but for now this will have to do.

City Hunter, I thought you would be horrible. The idea sounded dull and the promos worse (this is a revenge drama where the concept of revenge was mentioned nowhere before it started! Some promos made it look like an office romcom. And Godfather is a fun story of an Italian family, I suppose). But you came, I gave you a chance, and you stole my heart and soul away. You had a tight, twisty script, gorgeous cinematography, competent directing, and characters I fell in love with, as played by actors who did an amazing job (oh, what a pleasure to see Lee Min Ho given a chance to show off his chops in a genuinely great drama). Oh, and the OTP. The OTP. They are in running for my OTP of the year award.

Largely hair-based on WBDS ep 7

ockoala.) How, in between training in combat, rescuing Dong Soo from consequences of his lunacies, and angsting about parental and assassin trauma, Yeo Woon has any time to maintain that hair, is a mystery worthy of Poirot.
Here he is, showing off his hair while demonstrating unspoken but overwhelming relief that Dong Soo did not get beheaded. Oh you poor woobie future assassin, you really should not have feelings, as it will make your inevitable descent only worse:
Speaking of hair, our hero, Dong Soo, sports quite a mane himself. Perhaps as a comfort in his times of adversity.
I confess I cannot really dislike Dong Soo, even as it appears more and more likely, seven eps in, that they are indeed setting up him and Ji Sun as the OTP and I want Ji Sun with Yeo Woon. Hating Dong Soo would be equivalent to hating a big, loveable, sweet and very dumb dog. Just not done. Though the fact that he is going to look like this in an upcoming ep doesn't hurt:
Cherish that makeover, Dong Soo!
But back to Yeo Woon (who is my second favorite in this, behind Cheon because Choi Min Soo can do no wrong ever). Preview promises us a breakdown:
About time. The kid has been bottling everything in so much he could become a professional vintner.
And we conclude with Gwang Taek, the biggest BAMF that ever BAMFed. So BAMF is he, in fact, that he doesn't need to showcase his hair:
Yeah, as you can tell, I am enjoying WBDS. It's gorgeous and fun and popcorn. It's not as smart or has me as emotionally invested as The Princess' Man but it is a very good time.
